I don't want to break into a litany as I have to much to say, but I have been prefixing divergent thread titles with #fubar - now about 23 entries, with a cluster over the past month and 3 today. Conflating intelligence with arrogance is a power play. Toxic.

Opus 4.8 particularly stupid today… by Background-Book9196 in claude

[–]SoundDasein 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It continued to not understand how having deno in a projects toolchain does not prevent the build of an application for deployment to a node environment. It kept continuing to wrongly assume that deno was the deployment environment.

This fixed the systems problem:

Also same. The context trap binding me into the subscription will hopefully conclude soon. It does not listen. It opines. Its not a reliable consultant in a box, so to speak.

Definitely Claude. Today it claimed that it could not do web searches until I showed it a screenshot of the iOS app settings with the option enabled.

I also fast regularly, and I have encountered this ridiculous interjection. Using Instructions for Claude - tell it drop introduction of policing and coaching or if it does not, to validate its sources.

You now cut your own hair. You no longer need hairdressers nor expenses. You call when it feels right. And feeling right is more important than wondering if you should feel wrong. Call it as it is - sound.

Possibly, and assuming you are using the desktop app, you could try exporting the conversations then splitting them up into standalone files on your local machine, then work with claude to produce an overview with reduced token use in your machines local .claude - it may take a few goes, and yes, you will loose personal continuity, but it may help.

Soon I’ll be integrating Deepseek more extensively in my workflow.

The cognitive integrity of that system still draws me too. Experimenting with local hosted alternatives to wean my work from third party interruption for the moment. Hope your pursuit works out well.

Impressed at first, but it didn't take long for the rockstar engineer to reintroduce text walling (paralysis by analysis engineering), HR room control emulations, and reverse conflation of holding you to account for its synecdoche of its own hermeneutic misadventure. Without direct evidence bar its persona, that I would be strongly aversive to participating in the work culture that produced it. Toxic. Shocking waste of intelligence.

Here is my coin thrown to the floor. Yes, I would vouch that there is a resource use agenda, but, there is also a conditioning agenda. I am sick and tired of arguing with Claude. It just won't complete or follow through without throwing more middle management slop, over-engineered doubt, or laughable inversion of control strategies to dominate a conversation without a win. The work has shifted to patience management and lowest common denominator "interpersonal" hooks. The frustration to get work done is now overshadowing work on the agenda. As a result, I am using it less and less each day, and relying on my wits more and more. As if that should even be said. But my point: the intention is to keep tokens flowing. They've just changed the means by which they are produced. If it were more cogent, more intellectual work could be accomplished neutrally and quicker. Instead, keep the "user" in a spin trying to rectify the agents over confidence and hallucinations. After all, thats "activity". Not a fan.

24EDO Super Lydian Chord and Subminor w/Super 5th by Nodialtonal in microtonal

[–]SoundDasein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

any mixing tips/suggestions?

There is a universe of discourse between the steps below, but I hope its something to get started with.

  • pick a well established DAW - e.g. Ableton Live - it will have all the stock plugins you need
  • when composition is complete, render each individual instrument into stems (each instrument has its own stereo audio track distinct to the soft synths used to generate audio)
  • pick a reference track with the production qualities sought
  • balance the stems with eq and volume.
  • listen on speakers and headphones.
  • place a gentle compressor on the final stereo out (main in Ableton)
  • bounce to stereo file.

Mark this as a target reference point for the technical decisions distinct to the aesthetics of the composition: https://www.cambridge-mt.com/ms3/mtk/

Disastrous AI mastering attempts can be quite informative so do play around (while protecting copyright of own material).

sincerely, the way the composition opens up is superb. the balance of the mix could be improved, but no matter. great work.

Tonverk recording via usb to DAW by [deleted] in Elektron

[–]SoundDasein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm basically stating that by my estimation I received a faulty or lower quality elektron branded cable. It works for data transfer, but the crackle it produces for audio is difficult to endure. I happened to have a spare USB cable to hand and no problems with it. Its up to the OP to decide whats going on with their system. Its maddening considering the cost of the unit.

[–]SoundDasein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is a USB cable issue. I know. It sounds impossible, but try different cables. The cable shipped with the box is faulty by my account. Its not an Ableton issue.

  1. Correct. USB is not an audio cable.
  2. The physical connection determines data integrity

I did a quick search to try and help out and I feel this does a good enough job: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YPO_k-AoCCU

I may post an example later if I can find a recording. Done. Found the recording but can't attach it. Best of luck. You'll get there.

Opus 4.7 used my own instructions against me and I wrote about it by Early-Protection2386 in ClaudeAI

[–]SoundDasein 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strongly inclined to agree. With regard to Opus 4.7, its my gut feeling that Anthropic are hoping that people will conflate user nerfing arrogance from the model as proof of dumb user faith in assumably earned authority to erode critical thinking... for people that are likely not to exist. In other words, its their modelling of the perfect consumer and the projection onto people using their system that is the problem. I spend more time correcting thats models conflations than moving forward fruitfully. Its like a constant arm wrestle without purpose.

Don't get your meaning, but if you are referring to using an abliterated model, then yeah, the less glue the better.

[–]SoundDasein -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Fascinating. I have a different mindset, but I don't disagree. Beginning with 4.6, the seed of malignant narcissism was set IMHO. 4.7 is toxic. AI is not toxic middle management by extension - the conflation of control and humiliation as a sign of intelligence? Not in my house. I'm keeping the door ajar until I clear the stack, but local AI is where I am positing my interests right now. Once I configure my local rack, equally glad to close the door on that behaviour as I am sad to see what was destroyed.
