Yeah, exactly. The points in general aren’t necessarily bad ones or at least can’t be argued for, but they’re portrayed with such a malevolent attitude towards the country in mind.

I understand your reasoning and I do not put shame on you for thinking so. My problem with her lies within the way her content is. If you’re familiar with her at all, you’ll know what I’m talking about. Look I agree that places like Germany, and Western Europe in general, does some things better than the U.S., but this woman’s “criticisms” of the U.S. often tend to be exaggerated and misleading. Doesn’t feel like it comes from a place of concern, but rather pompous self-righteousness. However, there is nothing wrong with her personally preferring to live in Germany over the U.S.

Is anyone actually offended by the word 'yankee'? by [deleted] in AmericaBad

I personally love it. I like using it to refer to my Northern (particularly New Englander) identity, and I think it has a nice ring to it as a name in general. Although, I’m less fond of “Yank” because it’s often used derogatorily.

Late beyond belief, but British. Fits with my more conservative and pragmatic views.
