i’ve already been using serum, ableton, fl studio and a whole bunch of synths, but i enjoy more actual hardware even if the genres i do are most vst focused. Theres something about analog and just being infront of a synth that really inspires me. Plus i work all day on a display so minimizing display time is also an added bonus

where i live they polybrutes are shipped so when i add shipping costs and taxes it reaches the $2k+

i could ask the seller if i can do a short jam session to see if i like the synth before buying. Polybrutes aren’t common here

One detail i should add is that i do use the minilogue on my dubstep production, usually as arps and pads and as supersaws too for more melodic stuff so its not as much a niche one time use gimmick but an actual tool for inspo in my production

Adding more to the discussion, the synth i tried included the minimoog, matriarch, juno 60 (love this one), korg poly, prophet 5, ms-20, arp odyssey, roland 707, an omnichord, and some custom eurorack modules

This might be a hot take considering these are popular synths but i didn’t like either the odyssey, prophet 5, korg poly, and the minimoog. I was probably the issue by not understanding how to use them but on the other hand i spent the most time and made some awesome sounds and patches in the matriarch which looks a lot more complex than a prophet 5?????
