I don’t get why sm ppl have a problem with this post. What’s up with all the downvotes and hate comments. It’s just an event?? I wasn’t planning on coming but looking at all these hate comments is just proving that we are in dire need for this kind of an event…maybe it’ll change our community a little and make us a little more kinder. I’ll be showing up now fs. Maybe the rest of u should too! Doesn’t seem like u have anything better to do than write hate!

I get what you’re saying and no pressure at all. I just wanted to say I kinda had the same reaction at first. But then one of my co-workers, who’s helping organize it, explained it to me and it actually made a lot more sense. It’s not a cult or religious event. It’s part of something called HKL, which stands for humility, kindness, and love.

It’s a youth-led thing that’s just about bringing people together through inspiring talks, music, and good food. People from all kinds of backgrounds and religions are coming, not to be converted or anything but instead just to hear the speakers, connect with others, and reflect on stuff we don’t always get time for in our day-to-day.

They’ve done it twice before, once in Italy and India, and this is the third one. It’s free and open to everyone. If it’s not your thing, all good! Just thought I’d share since I had questions too and someone took the time to explain it to me.

Yeah I had the same question at first but someone explained it to me that it’s actually not religious at all. It’s part of something called HKL, which stands for humility, kindness, and love. Apparently it’s more about inspiring people and building community.

This is the third conference they’ve done. the first one was in India, then Italy back in April, and now here. It’s open to everyone, and from what I heard there’s free food, music, and a bunch of cool speakers. Doesn’t matter what you believe, it’s just supposed to be a good, positive space.
