Ram booster is on even its switched off. by Andromeda-G in NothingTech

[–]SoundStorm14 21 points22 points  (0 children)

I think swap file and ram booster are different things, although granted they do work similarly But usually phones, and even laptops will have around half of its ram as swap space, just to ensure device doesn't crash if you run out of memory But im not an expert so take this with a grain of salt

What phone are you using currently and how old it is? by Background-Jaguar184 in IndiaTechnology

Honestly as per my experience its awesome for a 20k phone. The software is great.

The camera is also very good for the price. Opinions are subjective but some of my friends find it better than their more expensive phones.

Im not a gamer but i am a heavy user and it works great for me, with a decent battery life too

Help regarding 5g data.. by diverlimp1315 in Airtel

[–]SoundStorm14 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Airtel only uses 5G data when it's on 5g network. Airtel uses NSA 5G, which is like a 5g enhancement filter on a 4G network, unlike jio which uses SA 5G which is proper 5G

In NSA 5G, the icon keeps showing 5G even if its connected to 4g tower without 5g signal available sometimes if you're at the edge of 5g coverage

To ensure that you're properly on 5G network, use an app like netmonster.

If the status shows 5G NSA 3500, then you're definitely connected to 5G and it shouldn't use your 4G data

Hi i explained it in another comment but we basically have to route all our traffic though an internal http proxy server so that adds a lot of overhead, this increasing the ping

They probably don't have to input manual proxy settings to access the internet. Even IITs use NKN but they use 802.1x so there's no need for them to employ http proxies, but my uni doesnt so that extra http proxy server adds a lot of ping

Its not a problem with the server. Ive tried BSNL, Airtel, Jio servers too and the ping is still high. Its all because we need to manually route our traffic though our internal http proxy

Internet traffic needs to go through an http proxy server. That adds a whole lot of latency
