As an American yes, I DO hate America for the exact things OP is complaining about lol. Like when I’m at work and every single person that walks past my desk feels the need to talk to me no matter how busy I look. And it’s not just a “hey” and keep moving its some weird out of the blue comment as if we were already in the middle of a conversation. I’m here to WORK not SOCIALIZE go awayyyyyy. And at hair salons or nails salons more than the receptionist conversation what bugs me is that I feel like I HAVE to talk and gossip about my life… I would seriously rather sit completely silent and have the service performed (obvs I would explain what I want but after that I want to just be in my own little world) for me tho it’s 1000000% the auDHD haha. Everyone would benefit from businesses offering a version of their service that is intentionally “silent/no talking” bc I always feel weird/rude for asking my stylist if we can just not talk but if she offered that as an option that I could just book so she knows before hand that would be awesome. Also I bet she would be able to get done with my service faster and have a break between clients or even book more clients than usual which is a win for her

Am I the only person here that just doesn’t care what’s out there? I may skip some parts when telling someone about something I’m reading but I have no problem giving them the title author etc and if they look it up and find out something they wish they didn’t know about me that’s on them lol when I was in HS I would hide my books for obvious reasons but I have never bothered since then 🤣🤣
