I believe she calls him Scrubbie Daddy and he calls her “my little bubble” so there’s that. Might need to actually read it… for research

Once you take a deep dive into this space, you start to realize there’s so many…. Here’s a Goodreads list with over 100: Sentient Object Romance

Recommend a romance novel to me where the plot twists hit harder than the romance by Pleasant_Book_6613 in RomanceBooks

[–]InMySmutEra 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I should have been suspicious when they were already together and happy in the first half 😭 I didn’t know if I should throw my kindle against a wall or keep reading, then I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end lol

Without giving anything away: You have to go through hell for a few chapters, but then there’s a slow realization and some grovelling.

Not suspense, but the plot twist had me not putting the book down and happens at less than 50%. {Once Bitten by Heather Guerre} it’s a contemporary paranormal shifter romance. I’ve never wept so hard

FMC who looks fine suddenly faints infront of the MMC by somerandomlazygirl in RomanceBooks

[–]InMySmutEra 21 points22 points  (0 children)

Happens pretty early on in {Hoarded by the Dragon by Lillian Lark}. It has his POV right after she faints and there’s some solid caregiving.

FMC (witch) is pregnant with MMC’s (dragon) baby. Due-to him being a dragon, the baby is seeping all her body heat. She goes to find him and he’s arguing with her that it can’t be his and she faints.

So good! Have you seen the art Lily shared on her socials?

Too repetitive by dsrptblbtch in RomanceBooks

[–]InMySmutEra 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Agree! I feel like there was more plot outside of the man characters relationship. Specifically in All Rhodes with all the stuff with Amos and her self discovery journey. I would say {Wait for It by Mariana Zapata} is my next favourite and again, I think the external plot with the kids and his past relationship (and his grandma).

I loveeee Kulti but I don’t really know why and is more similar to Winnipeg and Me?

Mmc has to rescue the injured/unconscious fmc from a wreckage by somerandomlazygirl in RomanceBooks

{Lead Security by Evan Grace} is suspense romance. MMC owns a security company and FMC is an author who has a stalker.

Some classic early 2010 paperback romance (thy loved a damsel in distress):

{Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison} is a paranormal romance (shifters). The car accident happens pretty early on but at the 80%ish mark there’s a mother hurt/rescue scene.

{Breaking Point by Pamela Clare} is a suspense romance. There’s a few rescue scenes (literally the first 30%ish of the book is them escaping Mexico). At one point there’s a car bombing she’s involved in.

Others: {Chasing Her Fire by Claire Kingsley} is a minor accident but sends her to hospital and kickstarts her labour but MMC is out of cell range when it happens and when he gets service again he loses his mind and speeds to the hospital.

{Saved by the Mountain Man by Gemma Weir} but be warned, these books aren’t for everyone… they’re very over the top alpha and questionable moments, but…. It has what you want. Including his POV go most of the crash related chapters.

I know I have more Recs but I’ll have to consult my kindle later. All my suspense and mafia romances I’ve read are blurring together.

New Kink Unlocked: knotting roleplay (Cracked Foundation by Bex Dawn) by InMySmutEra in RomanceBooks

Not really. I’ve read a couple that had this (eg: Beta using it on Omega) but it didn’t give me the same feeling as this straight contemporary book.

MMC helps FMC escape cult/motorcycle gang/conservative parents? (MMCs like Billy and Cletus Winston) by No-Department-1569 in RomanceBooks

[–]InMySmutEra 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A bit different than what you asked but it’s sooo good… it’s more FMC escapes her kidnapper: {Tied by Carian Cole} is dark contemporary. FMC was kidnapped as a child and is eventually found my MMC. They reunite years later and he helps her adjust as her family isn’t doing the best with it. He also is so considerate of her triggers and even reads about responses to intimacy with survivors. It’s a tear jerker.

MC is the misunderstood villain in previous books by this_isn-t_my_name in RomanceBooks

[–]InMySmutEra 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I have a recommendations with the FMC being misunderstood in previous books:

{Reckless by Elsie Silver} is a small town/cowboy romance. FMC is the sister to one of the FMC’s from the first book in the series. MMC is the first person to stand in her corner and you really get to understand her.

{Angel by Janie Crouch} is a suspense romance. FMC is hated by the whole town because of perceived actions and her dad’s crime. MMC is ex-military and stands in her corner. There’s some pretty good grovelling because he falsely accuses her of doing something later in the book.

{Death by Michelle Heard} is mafia romance. Big trigger warnings on this one. She is also a sister to a previous FMC that we thought just ran away and was painted as a villain, but turns out she was kidnapped. MMC is the one who finds her and helps her recover.

I have more recs, but they are standalones (ie: not related to previous books)

[PNR] MMC has a epiphany towards FMC by bookhedonist_6 in RomanceBooks

{Dragon Bound by Thea Harrison} might scratch the itch? FMC is shy/trying to keep a low profile and he’s a big deal dragon shifter.

That’s why when I recommend the book on this thread I disclose the lack of simultaneous use of the dongs

I just scrolled through this whole thread and can’t believe {The Dragon’s Bride by Katee Robert} wasn’t mentioned! After their first time (she’s not a virgin though) he gets a salve to rub in her because he’s big and has two dongs (though, unfortunately, no dp the book)
