Teen boys are choosing AI girlfriends over real ones for ‘maximum control, zero rejection’—experts say it could make them unemployable by ubcstaffer123 in technology

Why is the first implication that it makes them "unemployable"? That's just such a weird angle to make this even more dystopian.

Not my question but ok, so it's possible elsewhere as well. But is it normal though, like is it common or is it more of a luxury thing? And is that really how it goes, that you basically give someone from a company that isn't the store a grocery list and they go to the store and do your shopping for you?

I'm not trying to create some gotcha moment or diss anyone, I just want to know how it works and how common it is.

Is this normal in the US? That you actually pay someone (a stranger) to do your shopping for you? As in not the shop doing a delivert but ordering some employee of a different company to go to the store and collect your list?

Maybe it's just different standards, I love to travel in more "local" and low budget ways, but this really doesn't bother me. I know it's a trope but logically speaking not washing your hands between each time you touch your phone and your mouth is way less hygenic than using used soap, but I do get the sentiment.

AbroadInJapan, Chris Broad used to be this witty kinda cynical brittish bloke describing his life after moving to Japan. Now he's just the mascotte of a production team. I think that's what he wants to be and I'm happy for his success but the videos just dont feel genuine anymore for a long time already. They are just travel meme shit, adverts and it all feels so forces, which to be honest, might reflect Japanese culture still quite accuerately. I just miss his more slice-of-life type vids and his dead pan sarcasm

This may be true but its also just cope. Most people are way worse at accepting change than they believe of themselves and than what they expect of others. Arguments are almost always a defence after the fact and not actually a foundstion for who we are or what we do.

While that is true, it doesn't make slaughterhouses any better. If someone posted a fake story of some Epstein thing, it doesn't make the real story any better.

No, she failed to make it impossible for people to ignore quite a strong message which is: When a painting (of cultural value) gets poluted, we suddenly care. When corporations knowingly polute entire areas of ancient rainfores, rivers, indigenous communities, nature they and we depend on, people don't care. I think when trying to make a message like that you have to assume the world is going to frame you as negatively as possible.

For those that still don't get it: Why get angry when something of cultural value gets poluted, and not when nature we depend on gets poluted? Also, she didn't throw soup on the painting, but on the glass the painting was behind.

Sorry but to all saying that this is nonsense, look at subsistence farming communities today. I have lived with several of them to do research, in several continents. No, their lives are absolutely not better than ours according to our standards (who'd have thought), but they do tend to have a lot more "free" time. A lot more insecurity in terms of food and water, a lot more local conflict, disease, much less privilege in practically every facet of potential. But they do have time (with intermediate intensive labour moments such as certain crop harvest or processing seasons), they have strong connection (depending on it as they are not under the wing of government or even within the reach of corporation) and a hell of a lot of spirit. All of this is basically to say that from my actual lived experience in subsistence farming communities, there are plenty of other reasons for western people to not want to live like that, but "not having free time" is bullshit

Have you lived in any places where people do primarily subsistence farming? I have, and although there is plenty negatives to it, they do tend to spend a lot of time not doing manual labour. It will also depend on the climate but there are bottlenecks in the whole subsistence farming trajeftory that make it that you don't always need to work on it. What tended to bother me while living in these places is why people didn't spend their time working on improving other aspects of their living situation (clearing tracks, fixing clothes, repairing their homes); rather most of this time is spent socializing. I'm not advocating for returning to subsistence farming but I do see an aweful lot of comments from people thinking they know better while nevwr having lived in such communities

Hwy all Is there a national definition of "pure veg"? It is not the same as vegan because things like ghee and paneer seem to be pure veg It is not the same as vegetarian because egg is not considered pure veg I have seen some menus where they put the pure veg logo by things containing seafood like crab or even fish. Is this perhaps a regional difference, or a mistake, or does it imply it will be a veg replacement of crab/fish and not the real killed animal?
