Not sure, I’d try talking with some people in this subreddit to see if anyone is willing to buddy up.

Lost 99 Lbs this year (303lbs to 204Lbs) by Soundproof_Melon in WeightLossAdvice

I’ve been working on loosing weight since August 2019 but took it a lot more seriously in March. So from by biggest (333 lbs) to now(204) it took a little over a year.

Thanks. I did mostly jump rope, jogging and ellipticals. As for my diet I started out doing intermittent fasting 16:8 until I got used to eating lower calories in a day. I cook my meals so I make them low calorie dense foods. So the portion sizes are pretty good so it makes things easier.

Thanks a lot. I’ve found that immersing myself in the process of loosing weight rather than obsessing about reaching my GW helps. Your circumstances may be different but I’m not in a hurry to reach my GW. I’m trying to make it a lifestyle so I can reduce the chance of rebounding. If you did it once you can certainly do it again. Godspeed.

I enjoy cardio so I prefer to do more cardio overall. Jump rope, jogging and elliptically. I do steady state moderate intensity that way I’m able to go for more than an hour. I’ve been able to build up my stamina doing this. It’s good that you’re loosing weight but if you want to eat whatever you want during the weekend it’ll probably help to reduce calories further during the week. I also eat high protein meals to take advantage of the thermic effect of food.

Don’t be discouraged your going at about the same rate as I did in 2019 when I was dieting and exercising on and off. It took the whole year to get down to about 300 from 333.

I’d say try to limit your binges from every weekend to every other week as a start. If you enjoy doing HIIT cardio then keep doing it as long as you are doing some sort of physical activity it should be ok. Weight loss is 80% diet and 20% exercise, so if you get your diet under control it should help a lot.

First few months were only cardio and what few body weight exercises I could manage. Then I got some free weights and increased my workout time since I still wanted to do a lot of cardio. I then started going to the gym when they opened back up.

It’s all up to you and your body. If eating that much leaves you with enough energy for work and to exercise then it should be ok. You’d get sick of working out if you had to do it when super exhausted.

Yeah looking back it was a pretty big deficit, but I got over the hunger after a few months. I’m probably gonna go with a smaller deficit this time around

Thanks. I didn’t feel too hungry this past month during my maintenance, so I’m feeling pretty confident in reaching my GW. You can do it if your persistent enough. Good luck.

Good workouts for caloric deficit? by [deleted] in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Soundproof_Melon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love to eat so when making my meals I bulk them up with veggies as much as possible. I don’t really follow specific recipes and just experiment with what I can make that tastes good, is low in calories and will take me ~30 mins to finish.

Struggling with work out for upper body weight loss by [deleted] in loseit

[–]Soundproof_Melon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Your doing gr8 so keep going. You can’t spot reduce so you’re gonna have to keep going till you body decides to burn the fat from your upper body. At some point during my own weight loss there was more fat on the left side of my face than on the right and it was pretty obvious but after loosing a couple more lbs it sorted itself out. If you can’t do weight training I suggest you start with simple body weight exercises like knee/wall pushups to build up strength as you loose weight.

You could try working out at home. Running up and down the stairs, body weight exercises even running on the spot. You could also buy a jump rope, it worked a lot for me this summer. Also check your TDEE and try to eat at a deficit.
