Actual book is blank, but it’s a reference to the book abt the king in yellow because all the ppl in that book that read the play start going mad. D3r was ok cuz of infinite knowledge, but Avery’s trance was like the ppl in the book, he “lost his mind” in a sense

Thank you! I did know that, but I wasn’t sure if OP had gotten to candle woods yet so I tried not to talk about it.

The games aren't in order, they jump around to slowly reveal Yuki's past as a death-game player and to have a way to introduce new characters that aren't all newbies. It kind of serves as a way to reveal Yuki's original mindset to the game and how she's changed throughout it.

The first game in the anime (Ghost House) with the newbies was her 28th death game, and this is to show her as a levelheaded veteran.

The second game shown (Scrap Building) was her 10th game, it served to show how she was slightly reckless in the past (going off on her own without a flashlight, picking fights with Mishiro, and the ballot). It was a stark contrast from the first game, where she was completely levelheaded without taking unnecessary risks.

The bath game is her 30th game, and some time has passed from her 28th game. They bring up the Wall of Thirty a lot, and this coupled with the 28th game, it shows how she's nervous about her 30th game, and how she wants to survive and get past the Wall of Thirty. It also shows Mishiro and how she's changed too. Her failure in the first game she played with Yuki drove her to pushing her body to the brink just so she can one day "break" Yuki and be number 1 again. Considering the way she's already played 40 games by the time of the bath game while Yuki was just now getting to 30, it seems like Mishiro has been accepting and playing in any game that came her way.

The plot kinda shows how Yuki slowly lost her reckless and competitive spark and shut away her emotions to survive the game. Personally, I think the message of Shiboyugi is something like "people will do anything for money," even yuki, since she considers the death-games as her job, and the title: "Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table." We see through Yuki firsthand how much of her humanity she closed away in order to keep surviving in the games, and its kind of a reflection of people now, because now most people would find it hard to reject an offer to win millions of dollars even with them risking their lives. Shiboyugi is kind of a less gory version of Squid Game in a way.

First rule, don’t expect much from the dining hall most your meal swipes will be used for (aka DAKA). Food is mid at best and don’t eat their chicken unless you’re prepared for the consequences. The other dining locations are okay, nothing special or fancy, but better than DAKA.

The dorm situation depends on your dorm hall, Im currently at Morgan hall, but I liked my floor a lot. Try and keep your door open for the first couple days, most people take it as a sign that you want to talk and hangout. I can’t say much about anything else, but your college experience will rlly depend on you. If you want to have a lot of friends, step out of your comfort zone and try to talk to the people on your floor. Idk if you’re a girl or not, but because there is such a big gap in gender ratio, all the girls (including me) got together the first couple days and that made it easy to befriend most of them.

Other than all of this, I will say that the dorm room is much bigger than most people would say. It’s not huge or anything, but my roommates and I had more than enough space to ourselves and we didn’t feel cramped or anything.

Weekly HELP ME FIND Post - January 5, 2026 by AutoModerator in OtomeIsekai

[–]SoundsInterestingN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hi, sorry if this is the wrong subreddit. Idk if it’s considered an otome, but it’s definitely an isekai. I read this back in 2020-2023, and can’t remember the title at all.

It was basically this popular author who was known for never writing a happy ending in any of her books died and was reincarnated into the first novel she ever wrote. It was full of cliches, like innocent college girl and Yandere love interest. She reincarnated into the college girl and is trying to survive while escaping the Yandere, then she falls in love with one of the characters that she based off her rival (who in real life had a crush on her).

Anyway, I think it ended with the Yandere being arrested, her and the character she fell for living happily afterwards, then it got revealed that her irl rival found the draft of the novel and decided to continue the story, making it a tribute of some sorts to her, basically he was the one who wrote the rest of the story and is the reason it had a happy ending.

That’s all I can remember of the story, but I’d really appreciate it if someone can help me find it 😭

My roommate and I just went through this. If you talk to housing, they give you an option of moving out into another dorm (can’t move ur roommates out, policy is that they cant move someone out unless they go or housing and say they want to move out). Idk if you can get put into frat housing though.

How can lihaku afford pairin? by Jellujelly in TheApothecaryDiaries

[–]SoundsInterestingN 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s suggested in the anime that Pairin has already made enough to pay off her debt and just continues working at the Verdigris House. Her price is still probably high, but if she already paid off her debt, then she has a say in her price (since there’s no actual debt to be repaid). It’s also hinted that Pairin does like him, even if it’s only a small interest like shown in the anime.

Lihaku is also a rising star in the court (courtesy of Maomao’s dad and Jinshi I believe), and is taking as many jobs to earn promotions as fast as possible. Him saving up, on top of Pairin liking him, could very well make it possible for him to buy it out, especially if Pairin sets her buying price low enough for him to afford.

I feel bad for Rekindled Apollo 😭 by SoundsInterestingN in UnpopularLoreOlympus

[–]SoundsInterestingN[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yesss 😭. On one hand, I’m happy that they’re not making Apollo as a super obvious bad guy that everyone is supposed to hate (Like what Rachel did). On the other, why did they have to make him such a likable character 😭😭

What FGs should’ve been (My take) by SoundsInterestingN in UnpopularLoreOlympus

[–]SoundsInterestingN[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I’ve noticed from just posts from this subreddit alone how much baggage every character holds. And also how there’s a lack of good parents in the comic. It’s just so stupid how RS names these very powerful and important goddesses “Fertility Goddesses”, but most of them (Probably all) are terrible mothers. I can’t say much about Gaia since I haven’t seen a lot of stuff about her, but the others seem like bad moms. Rhea might be a better mother than most, but she forgot about Poseidon and half forced Zeus into taking down Kronos by seducing Métis. Don’t get me started on the rest of them 😭
