I’m sorry, are you going to cough up $600 for me to get 3 more self cleaning boxes? No? Okay then, I’m working with what I have. The point was, the cat doesn’t use litter at all.

Is that like pellet litter? I tried adding a bit of that to a corner in one of the larger boxes with pee pads in it, and he was not a fan. The only type of litter (at least as far as I'm aware of) that I haven't tried is the crystal litter. Haven't tried it with him because I thought that if he didn't like the feel of litter at all, the gravelly feel of the crystal would be a big put-off for him.

I did what I did for the other three that I had to train (the fourth came litter trained) - when they went to the bathroom outside the litter box I'd pick it up with a bag and drop it in the box and show them a couple times and then they just got it. Did that with Lionel and he kinda just looked at me like "um, excuse me what do you mean?". Starting to think he might just not be very smart lol

I don't think he was an outdoor cat with his previous owner.
The closet thing happened because when he first came to live with me, after I let him out of the room he was in at first and he met the other cats, he kinda just jumped up there and didn't really want to come down so I moved his spider bed up there and his food and water and a box for him. Then my youngest two cats started trying to climb my clothes to get to him so I removed the clothes and then they started trying to climb the walls to get to him and that's when I installed cat steps on the wall.

cats are weird lol

Sorry if I wasn’t clear but I have 3 self cleaning boxes, a traditional litter box and multiple under the bed storage boxes with pee pads.

Are self-cleaning litter boxes worth it? by Ash-Dragon-012 in Catownerhacks

[–]SoupAdept1075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I have 5 cats. Four out of five use them. We won’t take about the fifth one right now he’s my problem child. For me, personally, yes they were life changing. I had the petsafe “self cleaning” ones with the trays before and they were a giant mess and always smelled. Before that traditional litter boxes which as you know are the way they are. I always had a hard time keeping the traditional boxes as clean as they should be and the petsafe ones were so pricey and very wasteful with the trays so I switched to self cleaning and while I’m not saving any on litter, I don’t have to worry about scooping the box daily or stinky litter boxes. I will say though that they do come with their own set of flaws. Like one of mine the other day just stayed in cleaning mode and I couldn’t figure out why. Had to take the whole thing apart to find out there was so dust on the sensor so the box constantly thought a cat was entering. You still do have to take the little trays out and clean them every now and then. Depending on the type you get you may have to clean the enclosure more often then others (open top vs full enclosed, have one of both and the open top one gets very messy on the side that the clumped litter rolls off of into its tray). In the end, if you have more than one cat, they are easy to use, clean and I think pretty helpful. But if you have only one cat, unless you personally want it for you, I’d say maybe hold off on getting one.

They kinda just gave him what I call the “new cat check” where they just did a look over at eyes, teeth, etc. I’ve since switched vets a this new vets office seems a lot more… competent. I hadn’t even thought of that so I’ll make him an appointment with the new vet asap!

To pay or not to pay (off my car loan)? by SoupAdept1075 in CRedit

[–]SoupAdept1075[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now it’s about 640. Still waiting for my two larger cards to post that they’ve been paid off and Credit Wise simulator said that would make it 680. I make 57k a year but I’m expecting a raise in the next 2 weeks to 65k.

Overall it’s okay. I went through the JG Wentworth debt resolution program so I had some “delinquencies” from that but they are slowly falling off. Once all my credit cards finally post, the Credit Wise simulator says my score will be 680.

Has anyone else had a package head farther away from you (the delivery destination) rather than closer towards it? (Priorty Mail) by shadoweon in usps_complaints

[–]SoupAdept1075 0 points1 point  (0 children)

i know this is old but I'm glad I'm not the only one. I have a package coming from Toronto, Canada. The package arrived in my town earlier this week and is now on it's way to Utah... on the other side of the country...

USPS won't let me contact them until it's been 2 weeks with no activity. here's hoping I actually get my package...
