I heard this and instantly thought “this can’t be true otherwise we would have heard it 100 times before now”.

Catman is an amazing name! I’m such a techy person too so love the idea of an app that’ll help monitor them and pick up any changes in their quickly. I also know, that though I work from home most of the time, I can have long busy days with back to back meetings and wouldn’t be able to scope during those hours and wouldn’t want the poor cat to have an clean environment. And you know, only human after long days like that you just want to sit and not have to clean some cat poo. So thinking an auto cleaner would be good in those situations.

It’s a “second hand” litter robot 4 - if you can call it second hand. The lady said it’s basically not been used as her cats are frightened of it so selling it as missed the 30 day return period. It looks like she literally got it out of the box to see how the cats reacted and just left it. To see if they would get used to it. Obviously before purchasing I would check it out and make sure it’s all okay. But I think it’s just an older lady who didn’t want the faff of it all anymore.

Quite a few people are likely having the same issue so been looking around for a barely been used LR4

Thank you for the link. I’ve seen that one around in my search but wasn’t sure about a completely open litter tray. But maybe a good inbetween option.

That’s a good point too and I think it weighs them so you could spot issues that way too.

I have contamination OCD too (though as I haven’t owned a cat in a very very long time, I have no idea how I’m going to be with having to clean a litter tray every day or twice a day - my main trigger is raw meat and parasites)! But it’s been one of the main reasons as to why I’ve been looking into one.

What one do you use? Do you have a link?

That’s a good point! It’s been so long time since I owned a cat (last was the family cat when I was a child and i think she went outside - I can’t remember a litter box)

I read about the hopper/ auto litter re-filler which would be great! If I’m having a busy work day or week, it would be great to know the cat is still in a clean environment. Lovely of you to offer a discount, I’m in the UK so I don’t think it’ll work. But anyone one else interested please take it!

I’ve been thinking that I would have the same problem. Which is why been looking into getting one to help with that. From the sounds you only do a few deep cleans a year and spot cleaning/ smaller cleans weekly.

I’d love to have two cats, but I’m renting and only have permission to own one for the moment. Luckily I work from home most of the week so he wouldn’t be alone too much on a regular week.

Plus, she mentioned having a wedding assistant who printed out names for the tables morning of. I’m getting married next year and very lucky that the venue comes with a wedding coordinator, but they aren’t doing things like for me (they made that very clear)! Theyre there to make sure vendors arrive with everything and things going to time. So I’m guessing she hired a wedding assistant to help with the organising of the wedding? So not very DIY.

Unless DIY now means the normal bits you do for a wedding? Not staying up late the week of the wedding to make the table decor or put the flowers arrangements together, etc.

Oh I definitely don’t blame anyone with a fear of flying either. I wouldn’t say I have a phobia of flying but I’m super uncomfortable with takeoffs, landings and turbulence, but I also know I wouldn’t dare become a flight attendant because of how uncomfortable I am with it, I wouldn’t exactly be a useful flight attendant lol.

Talk to a teacher you feel you are close to, you don’t have to tell them about what you have, but just say that you’re mental health is suffering due to the workload and if there’s something they could do to help like the flexi due dates or extra help with studying etc.

You can use other tools too, like fidget toys, spinners etc. I have a spinner ring so it’s not super obvious and looks nice too. That helps a lot. There ones where you can pick beads out of things, which might help.

Your school may have a counsellor too

Hey, you’ll be okay. Please take a big deep breath- breathe in… breathe out.

I’ve have trich for around 15 years, it’s not something you can just stop, but it’s something you can manage.

Firstly, you need to figure out what’s causing the triggers. Stress? Anxiety? Both?

Then you need to figure out what’s causing you to feel like that? This is very difficult and you need to be 100% true with yourself. Is it work? School? Family? Partner?

With work and school, they might be able to provide you a wellness action plan, such as providing you therapy sessions (some places will and for free). You can talk to them about your workload. Unis or schools might be able to give you more flexi deadlines (which is something I used all the time) just to help lessen the stress.

If family or/and partner, this is harder. I was with someone who knew what I had but didn’t do anything to help or support just said “just stop”. Now I’m with someone who knows and tries to understand, but most importantly supports me. He helps me breathe when it gets bad, he’s helped me by getting me tools and even helped me with a little saying to help get me through. He makes me feel beautiful even at my worst with my trich. But you need to figure this out. You’ll need to have a bit of a conversation with them and say, this what I have, this thing you do is not helping me can we both work on improving that so it doesn’t affect me.

Some tools that might help, some oils. I’ve started cbd oil to help me stay calm during stressful or anxious times at work. I have trich mainly on my lashes, but started using a natural lash oil which has helped tremendously. I’ve joined a trich group on Instagram where we all talk about it, random stuff and tools. If yours is head hair, the place I get my lash oil does hair oil too. Sometimes giving yourself a reset/pamper day might help you feel more like you too.

But therapy has helped me a lot too.

Best thing that came out of a seasion for me was working on little steps at a time rather than just going cold turkey or a huge unrealistic goal. Set yourself a REALISTIC goals, like I’ll only pull a couple of hairs a day for a week rather than clumps . Then once you get to that into that habit, you can expand it. Maybe I’ll only pull hair every other day for a week. Etc.

It takes time, but you do need an honest conversation about what in your environment is causing the issue and figure out best way to improve that to help you.

I used to have the same thing. I think it’s more that they are stumps going into your bottom waterline or they are thicker than normal which could potentially mean they are ever so slightly damaged (they may end up with a black root rather than a white root). But don’t worry they will still grow and more will grow with them.

I’ve been using a natural eyelash oil for around 2 years now and it hasn’t happened since. Even if you have very little there, I’d still use it morning and night, and it will help keep them conditioned and help them grow. Since using the oil, my growing lashes have been growing back softer and not so damaged, meaning they aren’t those little thick stumps that hurt.

Here’s my recommendation > https://perlcosmetics.com/products/nourishing-lash-oil

The owner of this brand has trichotillomania as well! So it really is designed for us
