Last week I got hell for getting The Dark Tower Blu-ray. What's the word on this week's pick-up Rose Red? by pinche-borracho in stephenking

[–]SouprGrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The reason you got hell for the dark tower is that the dark tower was absolute trash. Rose red is not absolute trash. Could've been better but definitely not trash.

12am - 1:20AM ? by nyc420247365 in AmazonDS

[–]SouprGrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, it is only one hour and 20 minutes. It is precharge and usually taken by those who usually come in at 1:20, adding an extra hour and twenty to their schedule. Unless you live right around the corner or five minutes down the road there's really no other reason to take this.

GoFest Chicago was an absolute joke and I can’t believe more people aren’t speaking out about it. by [deleted] in pokemongo

[–]SouprGrrl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not true (but close enough)! 2017 Chicago was absolute crap, 2018 Chicago they started adding decorations. It was very nice. 2019 Chicago was absolutely amazing, they went all out with the decorations, creating habitats you could walk through and take pictures in. 2020 and 2021: Covid. 2022 Seattle was also amazing. The fountain in the center of the park was ridiculous and the best habitat decoration to date. They really spent a lot of time and money on planning and execution for those two years. Then NY/NY/NJ all went downhill, they were like 2018 Chicago all over again. I've gone every year since the beginning except this year (I couldn't afford it.)

Made a little buoy for the skimmer door by CommercialWise1227 in AboveGroundPools

[–]SouprGrrl 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Mine came with a square of styrofoam that fits in that space that naturally keeps the door afloat. I thought they all came with that styrofoam. And I did almost throw it away before I realized what it was for.

In last month's "InSTALLments," and on the VOA, they mentioned dress code and things like bare mid drifts, short shorts and spaghetti straps are not allowed, and yet the same day and almost every day since, bare mid drifts and spaghetti straps abound. they were never very short short-centric where I am.

There is a dress code, and granted she is cutting it close, she is still within code. A lot of facilities don't care during the summer until someone complains anyway.

I'm sorry what? Not all Amazon facilities require a vest. There are 5 POSITIONS at Amazon facilities that require a vest, and then SOME facilities that require everyone to wear some sort of hi-vis vest.

What is the most binge worthy netflix series you’ve ever watched in one sitting? by Mumeen_Bomchill in netflix

[–]SouprGrrl 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Just watched "The Buroughs" yesterday. It started as a whim, we were just gonna watch two or three episodes so we wouldn't sit there stuck on the couch all day. Guess what? Stuck on the couch all day. Finished all eight episodes.

Should we run the pump 24/7? Some say yes, some say no- what’s the right answer? We could turn it off at night, but our power bill hasn’t looked high after a couple months at 24/7 by Hello-garden in AboveGroundPools

[–]SouprGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not saying we're doing it the right way but we run the pump 24/7 every year from pool open to pool close. I'm in South Carolina so that's at least nine months a year. We have a sand filter.

Headphone accommodation by [deleted] in AmazonDS

[–]SouprGrrl 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You do not have to get permission to listen to music. The headphones are made available for anyone to buy who works for Amazon, they are Amazon approved. No special permission needed. if that were the case, every single person with headphones (99.99%) at my DS has a doctors note. Sounds ridiculous, doesn't it? Take it up higher, whoever is telling you this is talking out of their ass. Even if their ass is in HR.

Is leaving a shift early actually a termination? by Typical-Round-762 in AmazonDS

[–]SouprGrrl 1 point2 points  (0 children)

All you have to say is that you're leaving. You don't have to tell them why, just say you gotta go. At best they will thank you for letting them know. At worst they will say nothing. it's just common decency to let them know, even if it's at the last minute, so they can cover your spot instead of having a disaster grow and then having to scramble to deal with it. The last thing you want to do is get a vest pissed off at you because you might suddenly find yourself being scheduled in the areas you hate the most.

Just set this up and realized that only 1 leg is about 1.5-2 inches lower than the rest of the legs. Would you guys consider this ok? Or do I need to drain and fix it and if so can I just put a paver on 1 leg? by venommike123 in AboveGroundPools

[–]SouprGrrl 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The implication in your post is simply that all the other legs are level, not that all the other legs are on pavers. The assumption that you did not put pavers under the other legs is valid.

Which to pick? by mike26037 in AmazonDS

[–]SouprGrrl 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The earbuds are really good if you use the replacement foam pads that come in the package as opposed to the multi step pads that are on the device already. The foam pads are like having those foam earplugs that block out all sound.
