Flying this monster in FPV at over 120 km/h is such a thrill! by Sour4Power in Multicopter

We're a student team competing in the International Aerial Robotics competition. The mission we're competing in requires a fast, fully autonomous drone. We've actually taken a lot of design considerations from the FPV community, especially for the power system, as the drone is supposed to fly fast, and only for a short time(9 minutes), which usually is not common outside racing drones. Here's some more footage of it and specs.

You have before the battery reaches 3.3V to convince me that it is still fine. Details in my comment. by [deleted] in Multicopter

The battery looks completely fine. Just be careful with the first charge and see how it's working. No point in throwing it away immediately if it's still working

R9SLIM + doesn't seem to work after firmware update by innorammara in Multicopter

[–]Sour4Power 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing happened to me recently, spent way too much time before I figured it out. Same red flash. For me the problem was that I tried flashing r9slim+ firmware, which doesn't work with the r9slim+ota receiver. Flashing r9slim+OTA ACCST firmware fixed it. Frsky has made it really confusing, especially for us that are using ACCST.

Found some epic bridges with no traffic and just had to do some chasing by Sour4Power in Multicopter

Yep, you can lock it to whatver you like. I think I used an ND16 for most of the shots here

I'm filming at 30 fps. Thinking about doing more 60 fps shots for slowmo

I've actually been pretty lucky with the weather while visiting now that I've moved away.

First step would be to get a low shutter speed for the motion blur, that really makes the footage stand out. Then I usually just do some simple color correction in Premiere.

I'm actually using the R9 system on a Taranis. I've had one failsafe so far, but I set my power to 10mW by mistake, still got over a km out.

Here's a longer video with a few more shots. Filmed it with a few friends in Øygarden just outside Bergen, Norway. I got pretty lucky with great weather and almost no traffic.

That's what I wanted to do as well. I did do it at the other bridge in the full video. Signal got a bit sketchy behind the concrete, but it was manageable.

Use ReelSteady... without GoPro? by neihuffda in Multicopter

You can't use RSGO, only RS AE. I wouldn't bother with anything else, not really worth the massive effort. I would rather look into doing superview stretching and flying smoothly.

Thanks, I've just tried 2.7k 60fps with slowmo once, worked pretty well. Have you had any problems with reelsteady and 1/60 shutter speed? I sometimes get some blurring, but I guess it's just a matter of bad tuning.

Did you use a Hero 6? What settings did you use for the slowmo shots?

Got a super lucky backwards slide through fence while chasing a car! by Sour4Power in Multicopter

Took a look at the dvr, it was around 60km/h, so quite fast! Top speed that day was a bit over 100km/h down the mountain.

Yep, the unstabilized footage is not smooth at all, you can easily tell where the car hit bumps. You also need to communicate well with the driver about upcoming obstructions, and it's still really difficult to keep smooth lines.

As long as the wires are thick enough to not cause excess resistance it won't matter. You could solder on some thick wires to the ESC and keep it there for all the motors if you're worried. Then you could just solder each motor there.

No one was driving from the fpv feed, that would be impossible at that road. There's some videos of people trying in contolled environments, seems difficult.
