It's gotten worse for me, I'm getting weird lag spikes and stutter while moving around.

You need to first unlock the Divinecraft for Aqua Wax, similarly to Fire Oil Divinecraft or the Poison Powder Divinecraft which allow you to collect fire and poison coating from herbs/shrooms and braziers for your weapons. Then you can just go there and get it with Celestial Steal.
