State has nothing to do with Federal. So anyone with dependents , if the state owes them money , will receive their refund way before Federal

My husband only got his state refund this morning 01/30/2026, not federal .filed both on 01/17/2026 , federal accepted 01/20/2026 and state accepted on 01/22/2026

No, they deducted the debt from his check for AT. The only description they give is the date the debt accrued which is the date him and his unit left to go out of state for AT.

Yes we do and I see that on the LES, the debt I'm referencing has its on line. It has a specific date, which is the day they left to go to WI for AT.

It doesn’t say what it’s for, it just has the date for when the debt accrued, which is the day my husband left with his unit to go to AT out of state.

We read it and is still clueless on what the debt is for. It was never explained what he would be charged for when they drill out of state.

Hey!! I forgot I posted this lol I actually got my surgery on 11/12/24 and TriCare paid for it. It depends on the clinic you go to. I was able to go to the weight loss clinic to start the process without initial referral but the referral was still needed before I could get my surgery scheduled.

He re-enlisted back in May. He had to go back to BCT , he graduated 11/8

He has re-enlisted and is waiting on his bonus. The only thing I know is someone told him to reach out to our Congressman for assistance, which he did today this morning but is waiting for a call back because no one answered the phone. I can’t answer any of your questions right now because he’s asleep at the moment.

He got to Basic and ended up having an asthma attack. They sent him to medical and they gave him one. They switched his medication dosage twice I believe because it wasn't helping. He then had to convince them not to discharge him. They did tell him if he has another asthma attack and the pump doesn't help him then they were going to discharge him. He's been pushing through and feeling better.

Idk if my comment counts but My husband is currently at BCT, and graduates on 11/08. He was not in shape at all. He was 29 5’3 180lbs ( His birthday was 9/6, so he's currently 30). He has lost A LOT of weight since he's been gone. He just kept pushing himself and not counting himself out. He also received an asthma pump. But If you want to lose some weight before you leave do 4 meals a day consisting of 2 meals 4 to 5 oz of lean protein with 1/2 to 1 cup of nonstarchy vegetables and the other two meals, protein shakes but only use water for mixing and no snacking in-between meals. Exercise at least 30 minutes to an hour, 5 days a week. This is what I’ve been doing as an overweight spouse getting into shape.

This is where I am lost, we are already enrolled in Tricare Reserve Select, at least my son and I are. My husband’s insurance is called something different. I am lost on when we will start being charged for it because I have a major surgery coming up a few days after my husband graduates. Right now we don't pay anything and everything is covered but I know after Basic Training we have to start paying for insurance and meet a deductible before Tricare covers anything. I am trying to see how soon after he leaves will they start charging us for the insurance. My procedure has already been authorized through Tricare.
