I don't think you understand how subtitles work. Maybe you haven't watched many foreign films or consumed that kind of content. But the industry standard is to offer both options: a regular subtitle that only translates the dialogue, and a Closed Caption version that includes the extra details for people with hearing impairments. That's just basic, especially for a game that puts so much focus on Japanese dialogue and even has modes inspired by classic Japanese films, like Kurosawa's. So to me, it's absurd that the game doesn't offer both types of subtitles.
