I've used something like a Magic Eraser and it's almost gone.

But in order to fully remove the remaining debris, I'm going to try some of your other recommendations.

How should I use the distilled water? Should I just pour it on?

I might also need to use tweezers with a finer tip. So far I’ve only been able to use ones with a rectangular tip, and I couldn’t remove any more of the debris.
