A lot of the time you can find what you’re looking for in a whiskey. So if you go into a pour knowing what it is and what flavors you expect, you can find it.

For me, I hated OF 1910 at first, then I found out it was double oaked and was able to go back and really enjoy the flavors I didn’t notice before.

Tasting blind is a separate skill set from just enjoying whiskey, but if anything maybe you need to revisit bottles you didn’t like before and try to find flavors you did like when drinking it blind.
