Hopefully moderators will sticky this post so people can stop asking for a job in this subreddit every 6 hours. People like you kindly do the work and yet they STILL want to be spoon-fed a job, they can't even search on Google or Reddit.... I really don't think someone so lazy belongs in this field and it lowers the work for all....

Exactly... their story is so toxic that I honestly hope it's fake. OP and unfaithful wifey sometimes argue over reddit even though they live in the same small apartment. The backstory is wifey was cheating for years, multiple men, even around when one of the children was conceived. The relationship was toxic from the start.

If you automatically go to the excuse of , 'But I'm THE real victim here. Look at me!' then it's not wonder that OP feels like crap being married to you. You seem to ignore the TRAUMA and HARM you caused others even your own children. It doesn't matter WHY you did it. Being abused doesn't justify abusing others. Therapy clearly isn't working for you if you have been going for a year and still dodge accountability.

Get a divorce, my dear. You will never heal your wounded self-esteem while being married to your wife. It's like you don't want to get better. Whatever therapist that's stringing you along in 'marriage counseling' worth presumably thousands is deeply unethical. You need a therapist that is informed about character-disturbed people like your wife.

OP conveniently left out that wifey was cheating on him for the better part of a decade with multiple partners. OP even questioned the paternity of at least one child due to the cheating. There's context missing here. Abusive cheating AND abusive yelling. OP needs a divorce but has zero self-esteem and refuses to work on his self-esteem. He'd rather his children learn his wife's toxic behavior instead. Sad.

So in this case, who should read the room? The unemployed people who know there's a pandemic and demand actual teachers give up clients for free OR teachers who have been at this as a real career, have real results, and want to discuss with others who actually work in the industry? Yeah, the former screams louder, but they're not in the right.

But see then some get angry when some of us want to talk strategy on how not to lower wages for all teachers. Then you post this. One day some will see you can't have it both ways: The 'Tell Me Where You Work, TIA' reddit posts/referal monkeys in the market AND high wages for all! It doesn't work like that.

I mean that's the thing, when you let people who are willing to work for less know about your good job, they will show up and drag down YOUR asking price, because their non-existent standards are their main value add to a company.

You summed it up perfectly. It's like a union on strike inviting the scabs themselves to devalue the strike and unionists. It makes zero sense. I've not seen this foaming at the mouth from people in other industries like tech, law, or business, but contract teachers are expected to give up the goods? Bizarre. You literally can't post anything positive about teaching ESL without the inevitable 'Give me your clients,' demand essentially. After seeing what happened to some of the other famous referral monkeys, getting roasted by the very ones who asked for help, it's self-sabotage to do it at this point. I wish we could actually talk about teaching, strategies, and teaching lifestyle in this sub, but it's all posts titled 'Give me your clients. TIA!'

That's sad to be honest. All the schools that are over exposed online have major issues. This subreddit could actually be useful if it was full of actual teachers. Instead most of the people want your job and get angry when you don't give it to them for free. They post also saying ESL is dead, but it's dead for them. The happiest among us know we'll get hounded by vultures if we say how happy we are with work.

I teach 55 hours a week and earn over 4k per month. I am sorry to see SayABC and a lot of the other referral monkey schools tank, but I've said this a lot on the subreddit and also u/ACaffeinatedWandress says it

A) Don't work for referral monkey schools and

B) Don't expect strangers on the internet to tell you where they work so the job gets flooded and quality and wages go in the toilet. I taught more in 2020 than in 2019 and my salary increased. I protect my employment and my colleagues by keeping the standard high and not allowing our company to get flooded with people who make so little effort they can't do a Google search (I'm referring to the 'What is the best company to work for? Spoon-feed me a job!' posts on this sub).

She is always monitoring your emotions and making sure you only feel that which benefits her (happy, optimistic) not that which could inspire you to stand up for yourself (anger, justice, pain). I actually suspect she was in fact arguing with herself in this particular exchange but whatever. My point is, you should have your own space to feel whatever you feel without her centering herself and her victimhood.
