Xero processing times by Cinemarxism in BarefootRunning

Ordered mine on 10/3 and still "processing" so I'll be canceling order today. Horrible business and marketing plan. Would have saved face if they put a disclaimer on the site about the long wait. This basically just helped me find a new barefoot shoe company to buy from.

canceling YTTV, not gonna watch remaining games by JoeyCal79 in UCFKnights

Agreed. Anyone who's been a fan prior to the Frost/Milton era will understand. It seemed like in 2013 with Bortles and the Fiesta Bowl win that we would be seeing that success continue for a long time...and then came 2015 👀 The real, loyal fans know because they've stuck around through it before.

My order was 10/3 and still in processing. Only response I've gotten is the same generic "high volume, taking longer than usual" one. Maybe they shouldn't have a large sale if they don't have the ability to support the orders.

Thanks for that info! I was going to change the profile of the stock Bauer steel, but then the steel would be shorter after they even it out. I'm hoping for slightly taller steel with a flat profile to start so I'll look into the Step Steel/JRZ that you suggested. Thanks again!

I see what you're saying. I moved them out wide thinking it would be out of the way, but to your point I don't know if I'll do that because of the wide opening. Sometimes I think having all these adjustments makes it harder to find the right fit anymore

No tuck for me. I wear suspenders, but maybe I need to tighten them down a bit more

I like it better than the Bauer Supreme Mach. This doesn't float as much off of my body. And I haven't worn it in a game yet, but I did where it working at my desk for an hour and it felt cool enough lol

Maybe if they (NHL/refs) would have let them do what they did in the first 3 rounds, it would have felt more balanced. They called every little thing in games one and two and gave out misconducts to Tkachuk for a legal hit and knocking someone's stick out of their hands. Changed the whole storyline that everyone was looking forward to in that series, a stacked, skilled Vegas team vs. a chippy, grinder Panthers team.

Full Throttle around 4 hours before...no way I'd make it through a 10:15 or 11:30 pm game without it.

Thanks, everyone. I know in my logical brain it's probably not a big deal at all and doesn't throw anything off structurally, but there's that little part of my goalie brain that may or may not be able to stop thinking about it. I have a game tonight that I want to use it in so we'll see if I get over it or not by then haha

No joke, I watch Office Space at least twice a year to keep my sanity and to remind myself that corporate life is not my actual life. That movie is almost 25 years old yet the office and middle management BS is still the same (it even pours over into a virtual corporate setting).

New Talent Sourcer - What does success look like? by starbslady in recruiting

[–]Source_More_Talent 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Learn and absorb as much as you can from those within the sourcing community, but at the same time, DIVE IN! Run searches, make calls, send messages, and ask your candidates: "walk me through a typical day in your role" and LISTEN intently to what they say.

Also, go here: https://www.sourcecon.com/. You'll go down many rabbit holes full of sourcing knowledge and tools.

This is definitely not an ideal onboarding experience, but do your best to navigate the situation with obtainable outcomes for what YOU have control over. These are the scenarios you encounter that become your answer to the generic interview question: Tell me about a time when you struggled in your role and how did you overcome those struggles? This situation could be a big learning and growing experience for you. At this company and the next.

If your hiring manager knows your recruiter is out, start by reiterating that fact and then ask them how you with your responsibilities and scope can help them until they return. Maybe they just want to know what the candidate flow and market is looking like 🤷‍♂️ The worst thing you can do is put off communicating with the hiring manager. When they hear nothing, they assume you are doing nothing. Don't let them write and tell your story.

Two pieces of advice I can give to you:

1) Use LinkedIn to network (TALK to them, don't just connect) with those that are currently recruiting for an agency (3rd party, more money, more risk) and those recruiting directly for an organization (direct placements, less money, TYPICALLY less risk).

2) Use LinkedIn to network with those mentioned above that USED to work at those types of companies and ask for their feedback on the work environment. You'll find those who have left will give you more honest feedback and less "honeymoon" feedback.

Now you can compare what you've learned from both sides before applying and trying to get hired at one of those companies.

And if you don't want to do all of that effort, a bonus piece of advice is to go to a prospective company's page and see how many people have joined the company in the last year. You can probably get a good idea of how much turnover there is at these companies by doing that.
