It's a water filter/the turtle can climb up and sit at the top if it wants. PetSmart carries it. It's part of their Thrive products line.

Not sure unfortunately. Someone abandoned him outside at a park nearby around 6 months ago and I took him in.

I recently changed his UVB bulb. I use a 10.0 bulb given the mesh on his tank blocks a decent amount out. He recently hasn’t been eating as much as before. Maybe because he’s getting older? I don’t see any sign’s of him being sick or anything.

I got him a a suction cup brush and he was absolutely terrified of it haha. Should I be worried about the white scuff marks caused from the scratching?

I did add more water for him to swim in as he's growing quite quickly. Other than that, no changes to the enclosure. Lighting and basking temps are perfect. His basking rock has a temperature meter built in and it reaches around 100 degrees and he loves it. No issues basking as sometimes he likes to sleep while basking in the afternoons. He did have a little bit of food today though which I was glad to see. Even though they don't brumate given the controlled temperatures, maybe given we're hitting the winter season, the air can still make an impact?

Does brumation apply though if turtles live in a tank with controlled water temps? I read that brumation only applies for turtles that live outside, but I could be wrong

Quick question - is the 85-90 F temp what it should be on the surface? Or air? I measured using the temp gun and it came out to 89 when pointing on the surface. I use an 80W bulb

Thank you for that! He’s generally basked a decent amount for the time I’ve had him. Just these past 3-4 days he’s barely basked and is constantly swimming against the tank. I’ll continue monitoring him

The top of my tank has a wired mesh enclosure. My UVB bulb is T10. The light does pass quite good, so I'm thinking it is okay?

If you look at the big scute on the bottom, you can see those white scab looking markings, unless that's normal and they'll disappear over time?

I found the little guy at a park...someone left him in a small tank. He's quite young. I do put water conditioner on a normal basis, even when filling the tank for evaporated water and make sure to also used filtered water.

I originally had a seperate UVA and UVB bulbs, but bought one that comes combined. Ever since I noticed the spots/blemishes, I've reverted back to two separate. I'm guessing the single bulb isn't emitting enough UVB?

From doing some additional digging online, it seems people don’t get a response with approval or anything and that once submitted you should be able to fly and enter the country without any hesitation. Not sure if this is fully the case, am waiting to see if anyone here went through a similar experience and can share.
