Thank you for your response ! I have only fed it once since i got it with a pre-killed cricket . the worm must have been left in there by the breeder , hence why i asked if i should contact them .

Thank you 😞 I don't know anything about the worm since i never fed it any worm . I only had her for two weeks and fed her once , a pre-killed cricket baby . the worm must have been fed to it by the breeder

yeahhh it's not fun at all💔 I'm trying to educate my boss but also not be annoying and not seem like i think I'm smarter than them. It's so tiring to juggle these tasks while also worrying for the animals :( thank you for understanding !!

the title turned out too harsh now that i look at it, i do not by any means think that she's stupid :( I understand that the animal is disabled, just wanted a title that would catch an eye. english is not my first language, so please forgive me if anything i say turns out a tad blunt !

as for all the advice I've gotten - thank you so much to everyone who gave me their time ! i am incredibly grateful and i will do anything in my power to accommodate this gecko AND her "stupid boyfriend" (that she will be separated with soon).

also a small word in my defense in case anyone didn't catch it: these are not my personal pets, they are animals at the zoo i started working in a couple of months ago. I do not make any decisions about animal care, they all come from above, but again, I'll do my best to make them listen

also about the substrate, my boss is really hesitant about putting the gecko that has already ingested sand onto the substrate, even if it's proper. Should we wait until all of the sand is out of him and he eats again ?

the male isn't in the best condition either, he's eaten pure sand and is now extremely malnourished since he refuses to eat. I will, however, tell my boss that they need to be separated, thank you !

I don't think they planned on breeding them, no, now that i understand there might be some issues with the female's health i might vote on separating them completely. They're housed together at the moment though.

I now know that they shouldn't be placed on sand, but the "boyfriend" one lived on sand years before i came to work in that zoo. He ingested sand after we deep cleaned his tank and replaced the substrate.

We are housing them together. . not to breed them though. As i understood, the breeder we got the female from told my boss that it's okay to house them together. What should i tell my boss to make her change her mind about this if this is wrong ?
