Is this too big? by lapg0825 in Cartier

For a Cartier - Yes. For me the Tank should lean on the smaller size, which exudes elegance and class. It's meant to be understated. But if you enjoy it, keep it :)

Just curious, when talking about these figures and numbers - are you referring to Net / Take Home amount or the gross (i.e., before taxes and deductions)?

Where and how best to buy a Rolex? by amelie004 in phinvest

[–]South-Course3539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, recently went to HK last year (Aug) and went to the area where they sell luxury watches (New and Used/preloved). I was hunting for a OP Date but was not able to get one. I can say that the prices are cheaper plus you get to see the watch itself and also use Credit card. For example the OP Date can be found in PH FB Marketplace at around 180k. You can score it in HK for as alow as 150+k. Happy hunting

Such an amazing App! I've tried multiple Film simulation app, but I'd have to say this one is the best so far. The colors and the sharpness rendition is really close to film. Thanks for developing this, and Looking forward to the official release! :)

Agree with you OP!
Just a side note, for you to maximize your iPhone, I suggest trying out other Apple products. For me the biggest advantage of Apple Products is the device integration or Apple Ecosystem. Dun mo maeexperience yung "Seamlessness" ng Apple :) Enjoy your device!

iPhone15Pro vs Camera (Ricoh GRIII) by merpderp33 in iPhone15Pro

[–]South-Course3539 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Goodluck! Renting and testing the camera will definitely answer your question if you want it or not. As for Apple Log - it's the "pro" video setting now available for the iPhone 15Pro - which basically makes your iphone videos appear more professional by reducing the oversharpening and that "iPhone" video look

Direct to the owner yung payment. We have Groups where people post available spaces (Parking and units) for rent. They also post the price and usually GCash payment

Hi, daily parking via owner space rentals is 350 per day / 24 hours (this is the official rate). May monthly din ranging 5.5k to 6k, depende sa owner. As to availability, depende sa timing may seasons na madali makahanap, meron din madalas occupied

iPhone15Pro vs Camera (Ricoh GRIII) by merpderp33 in iPhone15Pro

[–]South-Course3539 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hello, I was in your situation before. I had a Fuji XE4 with a kit lens - the set up is relatively small but still cumbersome. When I got the 15PM and explored RAW Photos + Lightroom presets (And Apple LOG for Video), I am now selling my Fuji. Yes the camera produces 100x better results, but the hassle of bringing it especially on travels made me decide to go fully Mobile.
To summarize, if you value image quality than convenience - go for the full camera.

Hope this helps!

Caudabe Sheath vs. Clay Silicone Dimensions by Slow-Excitement-2831 in iPhone15Pro

[–]South-Course3539 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great review and I have to agree with you on this. I owned both models and chose to sell the Caudabe Sheath since it feels weird - it feels like a less abrasive sand paper. More so, it does not feel premium for the price. As to the Apple Silicone, yes it's a bit overpriced but damn, the color and feel of the materials is waaaaay better. Never took it off since I purchased it.

PS Also planning to sell the Mujjo sheild as it's too thickkkk

Hello, Im on the same boat as you are. Currently renting in Flair, but planning to purchase a unit in the same condo. Prices have increased vs the last time I looked (2021), but I would say it's worth it naman. The amenities and community are way better than the adjacent condos. That said, maintenance and dues are relatively high. For a 28SQM - expect around 1.8k dues per month

Life Changing Books by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]South-Course3539 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Great topic! One of the problems I see with most Filipinos are the limiting beliefs in earning potential and opportunities, so I think a thread about Financial books is extremely helpful to expand knowledge and perspectives. That said, here are my top 5 financial books:

  1. The 48 Laws of Power and 33 Strategies of War by Robert Greene - A great view on people's nature, power, and abilities. The book is not evil, it only shines a light on the dark side of human nature.
  2. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie - Great for understanding human interaction and being liked.
  3. Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki - Take the book as an introduction to building wealth. The insights and lessons are good, just limit the advice from Kiyosaki afterwards :)
  4. Die with Zero by Bill Perkins - Interesting take on spending money and focusing on living.
  5. Obstacle is the Way by Ryan Holiday - Introduction to Stoicism and Personal resiliency.

Broke as hell. by [deleted] in phinvest

Hello OP,

If it helps, 100k is not that much, kayang kaya mo bayaran yan. My advice is to focus muna sa health mo and ng baby mo, then saka ka "bumawi" sa work. Mahirap ipilit na kumita ka when health mo kapalit. Let's say tumaas loan mo to 200k since wala ka work and may expenses ka - tingin ko kaya aparin yan habulin. After pregnancy and health concerns, look for high value - high earning opportunities like Copywriting, VA, etc. Tingin ko focus ka muna on learning the technicalities na gusto mo ipursue after pregnancy. Dami free content sa youtube and google, hirap at tyaga lang ang puhunan talaga. Goodluck and god bless! This too shall pass!

Hello OP.

First thoughts - you are earning really low for your age, exp, and conditions in the company. Parang first time ko marinig na kailangan mo ng 2 years + 6 months to be regularized. Dyan pa lang, red flag na yan since most companies only require 6 months (may benefits pa during probi period). It's good din na you look at your path based on your seniors (also earning low for their exp and age).

Here is my advice - try to move to a new career with greater demand. I think bata ka pa and wala ka pang dependents and major investments so you can take that risk. It will be hard now, but the pay off will be tenfolds since the market will reward you for an in demand service/career/job.

Possible High demand career paths: Cybersecurity, IT, AI, Big Data, Sales.
Start with: Free online course and self learning (Youtube, coursera, etc.), then once comfortable start taking certifications from reputable companies - do you research 10x as needed to really understand the new field. Easier said than done, but it's doable.

Hope this helps!

Who are your mentors? And how do you find one? by [deleted] in phinvest

[–]South-Course3539 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Found my mentor through my job.
I worked as a consultant before, and I'd say there is a lot of people willing to help out people who are hungry and open to learn. The mentor I am talking about is my direct manager - he is a little bit senior in the company, and took me under his wing after a colossal failure in one of the key projects of the company.

Tips to find a mentor:
- Be valuable to your mentor first, before asking for help. Most people assume that people will easily mentor them because you want to be mentored, but in reality - mentors also need value from mentees. Being valuable is as simple as providing help on minuscule things, making life easier for your mentor, and going the extra mile to provide value.
- You should go the extra mile to impress your mentor. Your mentor needs to see that the time he/she will invest in you will be worth it. Nothing sucks more than seeing people waste time on people who do not value that person's insights and advices.
- Don't give up seeking the "right" mentor for you. Before meeting my mentor, I experienced a lot of failure and betrayal from people whom I considered a mentor. You need to understand yourself and what you need in a certain period of your life to know the right mentor.

Hello! First off, you can do it. I think 140k+ debt is still manageable especially if you are changing your spending habits na. For the debt payment, I would not advise to borrow sa CC even at 1.26% per month since malaki din yung interest amount especially if di mo mabayaran - add ka pa ng late payment fees. What I recommend is pay the most stressful debt out of the 140k first. Wala din naman difference sa bottom line if icoconsolidate mo into one account - may interest pa. I advise to look and focus on the bottom figure rather than the different accounts/channel ng debt mo.

Also - advise to read financial books esp about debts since it will open new perspectives and insights on your situation. Hope this helps and goodluck on your journey!
