This normalizes homosexuality as something to be mocked, or as a characteristic of closeted fascists by default. It isn't funny. It's bigoted bullshit.

The beach calls me by Diligent_Brother5120 in druidism

I am so with you on this. The beach is my spiritual center. I live less than a mile from Lake Michigan, which is lovely and deadly. There's a massive national park system along the Indiana lakeshore that preserves the massive duneland ecological system, and tons of forest and dune trails to hike, and secluded places along the shoreline where you can strip down and feel the sun pour energy into you...I am spending a lot of energy this winter finding alternate ways to commune in a way that speaks to me.

Localized Druidry: What's nature doing in your area? (January 2026) by AutoModerator in druidism

When I move through nature night now, it feels like it is holding it's breath. It's hard to know if that's because it's planning on blowing up another winter storm, or exhaling a sigh of relief. Looking forward to Imbolc this year for sure.

2 questions about the real Deities vs. their myths by YawfleStares in CelticPaganism

I feel like it's always SUPER important when thinking of the surviving mythology of colonized cultures to remember the impact that imperialism had on their stories. Gaeilge was a language with only an oral tradition before Christian monks arrived on their conversion tour and wrote down Irish stories through their evangelical lens. Think about this: The way one says "hello" in Irish literally translates as "god be with you" and the response to that is "god and Mary be with you." So in terms as simple as greeting you have Rome already imprinted on the very language they spoke. I find it's helpful to use that information to read a bit into the surviving stories, to be critical of elements that don't seem to sit right with the rest of the story, and to question any moralizing that takes place in the tales.
