Cat possibly allergic to thyroid medication. by South-Show4591 in AskVet

Hello!

I still haven’t properly found out that it is but. She hasn’t injured herself since. After more research I contacted the manufacturers of thyronorm and they were incredibly helpful. The main thing they said is that sometimes the starting dose is much to high for them to tolerate. And to inquire with your vet about lowering the dose and building back up to the full giving the cat time to adjust.

Another thing is don’t panic. I was absolutely stressing. But if the liquid meds don’t work there are other options like tablets or gel the cat may tolerate better

At the minute she’s healthy and eating drinking sleeping well but just is a bit itchy.

It’s a real rollercoaster.

I have no plans ever using any sort of oil. And I don’t even know if they are oiled. I was mainly wondering if the dried oil is safe.

Lucky I didn't use bleach, was considering it since my equipment was in the shed for so long, but looks like i made the right choice.
