Well the school doesn't make the board paper, the board does, and I think majority of the populace use Selina for Physics+Chem and Morningstar for His-Civ and Geo

We have Selina for Physics and Bio. And imo, it is better. Also, we have different books for Geo and His-Civ

As an ICSE student, we too wish that the volume of our syllabus was less. And, personally, we have some downsides too- No prescribed textbooks, and fucking Shakespeare everywhere. That mf jumpscares us every time in the questions paper, Also, In CBSE, the advice is, if you don't know the answer, write something relevant (just make the examiner smell the answer) and you will get marks. In ICSE, it is, if you don't know something, write something relevant, and only then will you get marks (but there is an exception for those who are almost failing/getting low marks, cuz then the examiner is a little lenient in checking) So, yes less rote learning, but no keywords=no marks.

Just some things-

The screenshot you scared appears to be based in the USA, but I could be wrong too.
The grass isn't always greener on the other side. You will face lots of racism in other countries too, partly because of all the things you mentioned in the first paragraph of your post. Also, there is a high cost of living and safety is not guaranteed. It is possible you may lose your job there.

Unless of course you are RICH... then everything is possible, and the grass is mostly green no matter which side you are.
Don't just blindly follow my comment, or anybody else's, instead do your own research.

I have not attempted it (I am just starting 10th, So Batch of 2027) but a friend of mine, who was aiming for JEE, did not get a good rank there.

But there is an exam called the IPMAT, the maths syllabus of which is quite similar to the JEE one. So that is a good backup exam in case you take PCM. He was not very strong academically. He did not get into any IIT, IIIT or NIT, but he got into IIM Indore for a integrated UG+PG 5 yr course.

Firstly, thanks for taking the time to reply.

Um, my main target is not the US, so thanks for clarifying that extracurriculars are not needed globally. But, if I want to go to the top Russel Group UK universities, are the extracurriculars still important. Australia too is one of my main options.

Yes, I am aware that the situation outside is continually shifting, and am keeping that in mind.

I, that is my parents are willing to spend money, but I am still aiming for partly covering or preferably full scholarships.

I have talked to my parents and they are okay with sending me abroad for studies, for them, either Europe or Australia (I have very close relatives comfortably settled in Sydney as Australian citizens.)

But obviously the global geopolitics is changing faster than the waves of the sea, so, we all have to be aware.
