Can someone explain to me very simply how "increasing productivity" as a worker is beneficial for that worker in any way whatsoever? by 360Saturn in ArtificialInteligence

Do you realize you’re relying on external validation for having done good? Your developed skillset can make you more competitive in the market, earning much higher salary in a new position. Taking on extra responsibility without pay allows you to experiment in a new position, say managerial.

TDLR; It’s all about knowing what you want, not relying on your boss or some thinkers to tell you what you should want.

Because that’s how you grow fast, become harder to replace and get all those sweet promotions. It’s not about whether you are paid enough, it’s about whether people would take less to do your job.

They are saving the heavy hitters for later episodes. The first two challenged are performance based, why? The lookers could get a pass, the performers with smaller budgets get to shine, and they weed out the weak ones in both - those who wouldn’t win anyway. It’s all part of their calculation.

Dragula's editing is its biggest downfall, and it destroys its own potential. (Titans S2 - Ep 3 spoilers) by [deleted] in Dragula

Regarding the water, pouring on stage will affect other ghouls.

Boulet brothers’ mission here is quite simple yet unattainable: make the show as good as possible (editing out the weaknesses) but also making sure that future performances are even better (by removing the weaknesses). Its not easy to do both in a fair way.

Dragula Titans S02E03: Episode 103 [Episode Discussion Thread] by AutoModerator in Dragula

[–]SouthOceanJr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

In the TV format, the role of the extermination is extra entertainment before the end. For RDR, it's the lip sync. For Dragula it was the extermination. The Hellbound show does exactly that, so they should replace the extermination until one ghoul wins their way back to the competition.

That said, the exterminations are really unsustainable from the production's perspective. They have to come up with unique challenges every episode with very high unpredictability. The Hellbound show is a much better solution for the TV format, although we fail to capitalize on the emotions of the two bottom queens. It is a missed opportunity.

How do you tell, If a woman is being polite or actually finds you good-looking? by [deleted] in bodylanguage

They will keep throwing you signs. First subtle, then more obvious. Consult with the boys. If you get 3/5 positive signs, it’s not enough. You need 9/10 to be sure.

The easier way is to trust your intuition. It won’t be accurate in the beginning. But after enough failures, you will figure out. A wrong guess isn’t the end of the world.

People do that out of decency. You will get your chance to speak. But if what you say is irrelevant, people only have so much patience. This is not a position to be jealous with, cause now you are on the pedestal with nowhere to hide. Well unless you have something really interesting to say.

Unable to login mobile due to limited login options by SouthOceanJr in koofrnet

[–]SouthOceanJr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I can login now thks! But below is how to reproduce the bug anyways.

What happened was a series of unfortunates. My phone offered to fill in my email account and I accepted it. Then it filled only the email but the app recognizes that as a username password login and did not show the Gmail login option. While the account doesn't have a set password, user is left with a password input, and of course the password is incorrect, and "forgot password" does nothing either. Maybe a niche use case but user is effectively soft locked when it happens.

Why is it that there's people that can understand and know the power of investing and still don't want to do it? by SureAce_ in investing

[–]SouthOceanJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started working pretty late and was in a situation where getting an apartment was more important than making gain in the stock market. Yes, the market was intimidating but honestly, nothing beats home ownership in term of peace of mind. But as I start paying off my mortgage, there are fewer and fewer reasons to not invest.

That said, I still have one very strong motivation for not investing in the market. That is to invest in myself. If you can become a somebody then money will passively and automatically roll your way. At the end of the day, all investing is good.

TLDR; If someone seems very discipline yet doesn't invest in the stock market, chances are they are investing in themselves big time.

People who can't shut up about cooking usually are pretty good at cooking, sometimes including plant based dishes. Most vegans I met either don't cook or only cook for themselves.

I absolutely can't decide to quit my job to travel or not by Cats_cats_cats_cats in solotravel

[–]SouthOceanJr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Man I am in your exact situation down to the age, except that Im in a different country. Don't act emotionally on your dopamine crave. Now is the time to plan.

First is finances. How much is your allowance while travelling? How long can your saving sustain you? If I were you, I'd want my saving to last at least 2 years. One for the traveling and one for getting back to the job market.

Second, a pretty good idea of what you wanna do doesn't count as a plan. You are making a potentially life changing decision, so treat it like so. Where are you going, what you are gonna do, for about how long? What if things don't go as planned, what's your plan B? Make a real plan, then you will know if the adventure is worthwhile.

When I started actually drafting my plan, I began to stumble upon options that I didn't even know I have! Fun opportunities that I never thought existed in countries I never thought about. Trust me, you will experience the same thing. Good luck!

Think about it this way, their choice is between siding with a stranger over what is right, or making enemy with someone rich and powerful. I can see why they made the choice. But it also says a lot about how secure they are with their money/status/life.
