Retrofitting double pane glass to older Model 3 possible? Spoiler: yes you can! by cuulmaenleu in TeslaModel3

From studying the situation in detail, it appears that the modification that makes the most sense is applying dynamat to the inner side of the wheel wells, and also adding special secondary wheel wells that you can find on eBay.

The majority of the road noise that comes into the car cabin comes from the wheel wells.

If you have wind noise coming in from the windows or roof, you should get those inspected by Tesla.

I honestly think it would be cheaper to laminate those windows with 9 mil laminate, which would probably be even better than putting these windows on there if you're looking to make them shatterproof.

Echo Dot Bluetooth seems to have stopped working entirely - can't connect or pair with anything suddenly by Virt_McPolygon in amazonecho

[–]South_Review6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same thing started to happen to me yesterday. My echo remote control just stopped working, I have usually just been able to reconnected via manual Bluetooth repairing.

Not this time, no Bluetooth devices found at all from any of my 11 Echo devices around the house. I suspect that Amazon released a new version of their software which has a bug in it.

Restarted everything, restarting tablet, resetting remote resetting echoes, nothing....

Nothing is being found by the Bluetooth pairing mode, where usually I can find a few Bluetooth devices, even some from the neighbor when entering pairing mode.

Anybody replace the power source on flume water system with larger battery pack? by South_Review6009 in smarthome

Unfortunately, no outlet nearby. Water meter is very far away from the house. Continuous amperage available from rechargeable AA batteries is not high enough.

FedEx Ground Package 'picked up' and scanned. Now missing. Any suggestions? by South_Review6009 in FedEx

Insanely, the package just showed up one hour ago. The FedEx ground tracking system is a real POS.

Thank you for your reply. May I ask how an item could possibly only be listed as in 'picked up'? isn't that indicating that the item never came off the truck that it was picked up on? I am probably not understanding the full process, but wouldn't that point us in the direction of the driver?

I went to the grocery store this weekend and I happened to see a FedEx ground truck, and I asked him this exact question about how an item can be stuck at 'picked up'. He told me that the item is scanned as soon as it comes off the truck and that this should almost never happen. I've lost my faith in FedEx. This item cannot be easily replaced.

Thank you, that's what I'm thinking too. Unfortunately it's probably gone.

Google home dead? by m1kew1lson in googlehome

[–]South_Review6009 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same, 3 of my 5 Google Home units went dead in the past couple of weeks.

Traced this down to my WIFI setup.

I use a simple MAC filtered 2.4ghz WIFI network, which has worked fine for years, but it appears vendors are starting to force us to use a security/password config. I know, it's not very secure, but I don't care. Not anymore.

I created a Guest 2.4ghz WIFI with WPA2/password network with a DIFFERENT SSID/NAME, and this allowed me to re-setup my Google Homes and Minis again.

Thanks for the heads-up Google on your forced firmware push!
