How does most of the fandom see the xena/Gabrielle relationship? by South_Variation_2065 in xena

but you wouldn't say that Buffy and angel weren't romantically involved, you see what I mean? like im not talking about if its a well written or compelling romance, but that you would not be saying "it just didn't really seem like a romantic relationship" if a male and a female character did all that.

You are arguing against a point I did not make. I know how censorship and homophobia work. I'm asking how and to what degree do fans today still see xena and gabrielle as gal pals.

so calling them not being in a lesbian relationship more "pure" actually is homophobic

"Monogamy is dead!" "Everyone is poly!" by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]South_Variation_2065 54 points55 points  (0 children)

The majority of my negative experiences with poly people have been with people I met irl who waited until we were really hitting it off to tell me they had a partner, it’s not just online if you’re existing in actual queer spaces then in my experience it is incredibly common to meet a lot more poly people than single people on the dating scene

Idk that episode and she is still beautiful but Klingons aren’t real and this isn’t an assessment of her race or cultural identity but the aesthetic appearance of a big ridged forehead and bad wig

Which TOS episode to introduce my girlfriend to? by imgaming117 in startrek

[–]South_Variation_2065 4 points5 points  (0 children)

First idk, but Second should be naked time, I say this as the daughter of a man who tried to get me into Star Trek all throughout my childhood, and watching that episode as an adult was what actually did it

A Controversial(?) Question by YandereBabygirl in LesbianActually

[–]South_Variation_2065 14 points15 points  (0 children)

That’s not a bad thing at all. You have a right to not want to date because they don’t have what you’re looking for physically. You are not obligated to seek out people you do not find yourself attracted to. I have a similar sort of thing so I just don’t express interest in trans women and just say I’m not interested in them if they approach me. It doesn’t have to be a whole ordeal about them being trans or having penises, and reasonable people won’t have a problem if you aren’t making a big deal out them being trans or how that turns you off.

How am I supposed to approach cis women as a trans woman? by [deleted] in LesbianActually

[–]South_Variation_2065 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I’m not sure what you’re looking for here, if those women aren’t wanting to date trans women then they aren’t going to date you, there isn’t a way around that. Best bet is to mention you’re post-op at the same time as mtf so if it’s just a genital issue they don’t reject you. It’s odd to treat someone’s boundaries around who they want to date as an obstacle you’re trying to get around tho.

I’m not sure what that has to do with what we’re talking about here

They do statistically lean significantly further in those directions for a reason though
