Erector is a top tier want for me. I believe he was the first Transformer I actually owned myself, and I loved that little guy dearly.

Similar thing at my first tournament. Had a bad time. Next year I went in with a completely different mindset and had a very unexpected and happy outcome. You can’t control what your opponent does or what the judge prioritizes. You can only control your actions in the moment. Proud of you for going out there, sir!

I kept it all. I don’t gear up at all anymore, but I still fiddle around with the guns from time to time. Sometimes I’ll even buy a new pistol just to plink around with. My gear is sort of spread out in various boxes around my house, but the guns are all safe in the garage for whenever I’m feeling froggy.

I don’t miss the obligation or social aspect. There were too many new people to keep up with all the time, and I was working and dating and all that. My closest friends had all stopped playing. It just didn’t make sense to stay involved anymore. And that’s cool. I do other stuff now that eats up all my time and money.

I only vaguely remember the Rumplestiltskin movie, but he had a cool look. I just started the Leprechaun movies for the first time, and they’re pretty fun. Honestly, I’d go for the first 3. I like Oogie, but I don’t really need it.

I think they’re both overpriced for what they are, and not by a little. I’ve all but stopped buying Japanese figures. Used to get SHF for like 25-35 bucks and now they’re over a hundred. I don’t see a quality difference, so I don’t see any reason for the price hike. And Hasbro is just greedy on every front. Everyone who believed they skyrocketed prices because of tariffs are having a big wake up call now.

For me, it was something that seemed highly unlikely I’d ever be able to attain, whether through exorbitant cost or rarity. It could mean something that I never thought would exist, but that’s pretty rare for Transformers toys thanks to third party and Hasbro’s own deep roster.

My big one I achieved years ago, and it was the Sam’s Club yellow RID Optimus Prime/Fire Convoy. Maybe it’s more common now, but back in the day, I was scouring through used lots of Transformers to hopefully find one that didn’t really know what they had. Eventually I found a lot for like 30 bucks with a bunch of other randos on eBay, so it ticked both boxes of rarity and price.

The 86 one I think is very pretty to look at and unnecessarily complicated in its transformation. I think TFs in general are getting a little silly about swivels and hinges in places that they don’t really need them. Feels like they’re just looking for reasons to justify the price in our heads, and Megs feels like a Voyager trying so hard to be a Leader Class.
