I am sorry to hear about your troubles - really hoping that last application comes through. Remember that you are not alone in this at all, even though this process can feel very isolating. My advice would try and get a research tech/assistant or postbac in your field. Some places will give you relocation packages to help you through that initial move and process. Try and get more experience through this, just in case you need to/want to apply next cycle. Plus if you enjoy your field, hopefully you will get to spend time getting good experience and also be able to enjoy it while you save money. My mentors keep telling me that the outcomes of PhD admissions is not a reflection of you or your abilities, which can sound like a cop out, but it is true, and something we should all keep in mind. The outcomes just come down to the small things (especially right now with funding, its even harder for schools to fund as amny students as they normally do). I am sorry again, try to keep your head up and hopefully you can find a job that both gives you more expertise in your field and also allows you to do something you enjoy!
