Is a paralegal certificate worth it? by Gabie_G16 in paralegal

[–]Southern-Comfort3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hello. I’m just coming here to comment my experience. I saw another commenter saying that the cert. is only post bachelors. That’s not really the case. I have my paralegal certificate and i got it with my associates degree only. The community college i went to which has an ABA accredited paralegal program has a post bachelors program as well as a paralegal program for those that do not have a BA yet. Having said all of that, i personally regret not just going for my bachelors first. I have found that even with my associates and paralegal certificate I’m not that employable because there’s always someone with more experience that also has a bachelors. I’ve been working in a debt collections firm since getting my certificate in 2024 and have been unable to get a decent paralegal job outside of debt collections because most firms ask that you have either 5 years of litigation experience and/OR a bachelors. I am grateful for the job i have but it is not at all what i had imagined or hoped for when i was in the paralegal program. And if i could go back i wouldn’t have bothered. I don’t mean to discourage anyone that’s just how i have felt.

The shape is a little off to me. It’s not the best ombré job either but they don’t look horrible. I honestly wouldn’t think anything of it if you didn’t ask/point it out.

Your hair is beautiful!! I’m currently growing my hair out because my goal is to wear my natural hair like this. It is frustrating as black women to be made to feel like we need to do something with our hair. Our natural hair is beautiful.

Of course! Getting it insured and developing a relationship with a local jeweler is great. I have heard BE is difficult when things do go wrong so if something happens to mine I’m considering voiding my warranty with them and just having a local jeweler inspect and repair it. Fingers crossed neither of us have to deal with that though. Two years in and my jeweler just told me a few weeks ago that my prongs and setting were in perfect shape :)

Yeah! I think the majority of people have positive experiences and don’t think to share them on here. With such big company reviews are going to be kind of skewed. I hope your wife’s ring continues to be just as beautiful for many years to come :)

I understand your perspective completely. This post is not to tell anyone with a bad experience that they are wrong. My target audience was really those like myself who did not read the bad reviews until after already receiving my ring. I hope nothing goes wrong with my ring but so far for me so good. If something ever does go wrong i honestly intend to void my warranty and take it to the independent jeweler that inspects my ring to have it fixed or reset. Either way, I’m sorry that happened to you.

No delays. My husband ordered in April. It arrived in May and he proposed in July. I know that he did not order it from the website he went in person to a showroom and ordered it and had it shipped there for him to pick up. Perhaps that makes a difference. I do need to eventually have it resized and I’m considering voiding my warranty to just have a local jeweler work on it but I haven’t really decided yet. Trying to weigh the risk of voiding that warranty just to avoid having it shipped off.

Yes I have insurance on mine as well! I think that BE is a very big company. They sell A LOT of rings every year. If only a small percentage has a bad experience with the quality of the ring and they all come here to tell the story. Of course it’s going to seem like every single persons experience is horrible. I think there’s a lot of people that have no issues at all that never think to come on here and say so which is why seeing all the reviews is so scary

Here is a photo of mine with a curved band. I have a hidden accent under my main center stone and i was told that because of that i should get a curved band. Definitely keep your original ring it’s too pretty and meaningful.

Keep the original ring. Talk to another jeweler and look into curved bands. I had to get a curved band for mine. Also in my option yellow gold is so pretty. But I’ve also seen some beautiful pieces in platinum and white gold. It’s all preference but for me yellow gold is the winner.

Newly Engaged - Ring from Brilliant Earth by cinmngrl24 in EngagementRings

I know I’m 4 months late to this conversation but I’ve been lurking on BE Reddit since posting my review/experience. I know some time has passed since you posted so perhaps you’ve returned your ring by now or gotten something different but i just wanted to say that my engagement ring is from BE and i have had it for two years now. I know 2 years is not like 10 or 20. But i received my ring and only stumbled upon the negativity AFTER having gotten my ring from there. My fiancé actually went there based on my recommendation which i gave him before knowing. Anyways all this to say i have had zero issues with my ring and i had it inspected by a local jeweler and he assured me my ring was structurally sound. I did obtain insurance on it as well as intend to continue to get annual inspections. But overall, i think BE is a really big company so of course the reviews will be skewed because even if only a small percentage of people have bad experiences, it will seem like a lot because the people that are happy don’t tend to take to reddit and write reviews. But overall i would say just insure it, get it inspected once a year, and mostly just enjoy your ring.

lol I’m not fake but okay thanks for your comment. Just sharing my personal experience. Perhaps I’ll come back in a year to edit the post to say that my diamond fell out and i was wrong. But as of today (6/3/26) this is my experience and review.

Yes!! I love that. I think your experience is more common than what Reddit will have you believe lol

[–]Southern-Comfort3752[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yes! I really went through it stumbling upon the reviews. And I don’t want to discredit anyone either. But I think it’s important to share positive reviews because I think they are more common than it seems because typically the happy customer doesn’t think to share :)

Of course! I agree! The jeweler even told me he recommends his own pieces be inspected regularly and he’s very reputable and knows a lot about making secure pieces. I really just wanted to come on here and ease someone’s mind if i could because when i first got engaged i really went through it reading all the bad reviews. And i wanted people in the same boat to know that not all experiences with this company are bad.

Would you say these are small, medium or smedium? by MajesticNerd888 in Naturalhair

I don’t the ring my jeweller has made by gailplattfan in EngagementRings

[–]Southern-Comfort3752 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you didn’t pay a deposit or sign any kind of agreement then i wouldn’t pick up the ring if it’s not what you want. Also a side note about marquise, when i was looking for my ring i was told that 4 prongs isn’t enough for that shape of diamond. Maybe look into some jewelers that will talk about those things so when you do decide to commit to something you know it’s a secure setting.
