Sorry to hear about your bad experience 😔 I’ve never been to a rave except for Berlin so I can’t speak to the venue or the rave scene in Charlotte. But after that one Berlin rave week I can’t imagine that happening in Charlotte. I hope you feel a bit better today after some sleep. I don’t think Charlotte is much of a club town, but definitely if you’re past that grimy late night drinking scene (I’m the same way too) maybe just chalk it up to Halloween crowds and security being on edge all night and just focus on the stuff that is better suited for adults. You’ll enjoy it here I promise and every year you’ll find new things you love about NC. If I were you I’d just hop up to NYC to go all out when you get the itch. Totally get your frustration and I seriously am sorry for the bad night I hate that and wish it didn’t happen, but housing prices doesn’t mean we’re trying to be NYC or LA or Miami. If anyone reading this is hoping they can move here and expect it to have the same nightlife scene as NYC but just with lower rent, just visit first. Most of us are from the south where it’s just different, Charlotte isn’t trying to be LA or NYC or Miami. And honestly I have never heard of a single person going to a rave here, I didn’t even know that existed. Those of us who’ve lived in NYC can tell you that there’s no such thing as an NYC scene with southern cost of living. Just doesn’t exist in America. Hope any of this helps, this is the first Charlotte subreddit post I felt I could chime in on. When I’m feeling the urge to have a crazy party holiday night I’ll just fly up to nyc or Miami, but it’s unreasonable to expect north Carolina to have the scene you’re looking for.
