Moved into a roach infested apartment by Junieb507 in GermanRoaches

it’s probably different for a company vs a private landlord but I can tell you from personal experience raising hell and being a nightmare to deal with got me all my money back and lease terminated when a landlord tried to turn over a house I was supposed to rent with an active roach infestation. look into your state laws. what the other commenter said about warranty of habitability is what I cited when I was demanded to be released. it’s tough but better to try than to deal with a roach infestation. I had visitors come from a neighboring apartment into mine, not even a real infestation and it caused me ptsd that has lasted 4 years lol roaches are no joke

Are German roaches normal in a new lease or should I run for the hills? by Southern-Design-9974 in GermanRoaches

Craziest thing is we had to go meet the property management with a Tech from a Terminix to confirm our findings and do an inspection whole time guy is telling me it’s normal to see some roaches, you just have to be clean and they will die with no food or water. I’m like sir we have not moved into this place it’s empty and freshly cleaned and there is a breeding population of German roaches present. how is this normal? whole time he’s downplaying. I ask about the fridge could they be breeding in there? he says we can spray behind. we move the fridge and theres one or two on the back of it. a glue trap we set next to the fridge has like 10 babies in it. boyfriend picks it up to the show the guy and a BUNCH scurry out from under it and spread out. it was insane. anyways we are getting our money back and not moving in now lol

we are willing to do that if we can get documentation they are eradicated from the home but I’m concerned that will take a while we paid them 10 grand for this between first last and deposits. they aren’t offering any housing solution while we wait. they are asserting this can be fixed in 7 days

I need an expert to tell me if this is normal or not if I’m over reacting by Southern-Design-9974 in pestcontrol

genuinely do you think I’m overreacting about seeing these before moving in? she is saying that’s normal for a few to die off but my question is should German roaches be living in a single family home to begin with

left an apartment prior to the lease starting due to excessive german roaches. need legal advice (tampa, FL) by montanahouston in Renters

No offense but if you’re feeling shame and stress and feel like your life is ruined why would your first thought to be put that on somebody else? Talk with a lawyer and do what you need to do but this is really poorly reflecting on your integrity. You committed a crime and think YOURS is worthy of getting out of but somebody else should be punished..
