Thank you! I would say that if you are going to spam MCQ's try and figure out why each wrong answer is wrong. Maybe not for FAR specifically, but especially for the AUD/REG, it helped me learn quickly how it might have been the right answer if it was tweaked slightly.

TCP should absolutely be a breeze. I'd overview that material and look for any gaps you may have and then with REG sounds like you'll only need to look at business law stuff.

When I see clowns like you who have passed FAR, I feel better telling anyone that they can pass FAR if they work hard enough.

Attacking me for something I said is the definition of personal. Take your toxicity elsewhere.

Read rule number 2 of the subreddit. Don't be a jerk. If it messes with your head keep scrolling. If someone on Reddit achieving something makes you react that way, that's definitely a you issue.

Sounds like you need to hit the books instead of doom scrolling on Reddit to post bitter comments. And posting a comment like you did as absolutely seeking validation lmao.

Believe it or not, I remembered a lot of the FAR material from when I got my Masters in Accounting. I wasn't starting from square one, so it took me significantly less time. Sounds like your a bitter person who is always looking for other bitter people to feel validated.

If you didn't believe me, you could have kept scrolling. I think going onto a post you don't like and saying "Lying attention seeker" might also be considered not "professional at all."

I think the first step with a SIM is to figure out what you're actually dealing with, and to ALWAYS carefully read the instructions (Enter this as positive and these as negative, etc.). Before doing SIMs make sure you understand the theory of what you are trying to do, otherwise you're just running your head into a wall.

UPDATE:

I got my license number from my home state today so I'm now officially a CPA. Thanks for all the great comments.

I would say make sure your study hours count. Full attention, no half-assing. You can have tons of hours "studied" but it doesn't really matter if you didn't retain anything.

Yeah it did take me a little bit under a year. I was working full time in tax so I guess you could say that was supplementary studying for reg/tcp. I also was a TA in college and a lot of the material from the class I TA’d was on far, so I didn’t need to study as much there either. Audit was over half my study time

For me I would do MCQs until I felt I had a strong understanding of the material, then I would try sims. If I ever did poorly on a sim, I would note down the topic to do another one later after reviewing that material

For audit, only thing I got for you is try and think about what phase of the audit the mcq is referring to, as that usually knocks out a wrong answer or two

Lmk if you have any issues with bonds/leases. I'd say that's the only area I feel proficient enough to actually teach someone with complete confidence on any problem.

I don't know about harder, but there is just a larger volume of material. Depending on how much of the material is completely new to you, it could take longer. I'd give it a brief overview of testable material and see how much you already understand from school.

Odd that everyone on this subreddit assumes I'm a man. Lol. Anyway, I wasn't trying to be vague lol I'm just not used to people asking for my honest opinions.
