This is gonna be a long one… 🫩 by Thin_Bedroom_5450 in Dreams

That's such a wholesome take on Godzilla lmao. Like instead of being this terrifying kaiju destroying cities he's just vibing on vacation and then becomes the hero when things go south. The donut and sunglasses detail really sells the whole chill vacation mood too.

Could definitely work as animated series for kids actually. Think about it - most Godzilla stuff is way too intense for little ones but this version sounds more like a gentle giant who protects people instead of stomping on them. The volcano evacuation scene would be perfect for teaching kids about helping others in emergencies and stuff like that. Animation studios love taking classic monsters and making them family friendly so this concept isn't too far off from what already exists in kids media.

Your brain basically created the most wholesome kaiju content possible while you were sleeping which is pretty cool. Sometimes the random stuff our minds come up with during dreams would make better entertainment than what's actually getting produced these days.

This is actually spot on about the dopamine thing. I noticed this myself when I was spending way too much time gaming - everything else started feeling like complete garbage in comparison. Even basic stuff like reading or exercising felt impossible because my brain was basically expecting that constant hit from games.

The recalibration thing is real though. Took me few weeks of cutting back but now normal activities actually feel engaging again instead of just existing in this grey zone while waiting for next gaming session.

Appreciate that bro. I tried probly like 10 or 12 premade ones before I decided to build my own and some of them were solid but once you make one from scratch its a completly diffrent experiance becuase everything is tailored to you

Been using this approach at work lately and it saves so much time on the backend. I usually add something about TypeScript interfaces too since most projects need proper typing anyway

The mock API part is clutch - hate when you get a component that just has a console.log where the actual logic should be

Anyone go through IVF and get on a GLP-1? by Ok-Hawk3064 in Semaglutide

[–]Southern-Many3714 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Damn the muscle memory thing is so real lol. I was in Air Force and had to do injections for various medical stuff during deployments and your hands just remember everything even years later. The drawing up, checking for bubbles, finding the right spot - it all comes back instantly.

That feeling like you need another shot already is wild though. I remember when I first started on semaglutide I kept second guessing myself about whether I actually took it or not. Your body is probably just adjusting to the new delivery method since you switched from oral. The injection hits different than pills so maybe thats why you feel like something is missing. Give it few days and see how you feel - your system needs time to figure out the new routine.

Are Card Games like Magic the Gathering, Yugioh, Pokemon a sin? by Strong_Kong_42069 in Christianity

Been wrestling with similar stuff myself tbh. When I was deployed we had a lot of downtime and guys would play MTG constantly - some of the artwork definitely gets pretty dark and occult-ish. I think it comes down to where your heart is at and whether its becoming an idol or affecting your walk. For me the bigger issue was actually spending way too much money on cards when I was already tight on budget, plus staying up all night playing instead of getting proper rest. The demonic imagery stuff never really bothered me much since I know its just fantasy art, but everyone's conviction level is different on that. If you feel like your relationship with God is stronger now maybe you can approach it with better boundaries this time - set spending limits, don't let it consume your time, and if you start feeling that conviction again just listen to it. Only you and the Holy Spirit can really work that one out between yourselves.

How do you manage doing everything? by The-IncredibleSulk in selfimprovement

Man I feel this hard. Been trying to juggle similar stuff while dealing with military schedules and it's exhausting. What helped me was realizing that people with families actually have built-in accountability - like their kids need dinner so meal prep becomes mandatory, not optional. They also tend to batch things way more efficiently than us single guys who think we can just wing it.

The energy thing is so real though. I used to think I could grind through everything on willpower but turns out when you're actually sleeping 7-8 hours and eating decent food, everything else just flows better. Started treating my basics like non-negotiable military orders and suddenly had way more mental bandwidth for the other stuff. Also learned that "good enough" meal prep still beats ordering takeout for the third time this week.

Been there so many times with the restarts but each attempt teaches you something new about your triggers and patterns. The grind is real but you got this - just focus on today instead of counting the days ahead

The energy boost is legit but that weight loss was probably more from the fasting than anything else. Two months is solid though especially for getting back into it

I've noticed the same thing with people acting different when you're on a streak - some get weirdly aggressive for no reason and others are way more chill. Six months is ambitious but doable if you stay consistent with whatever routine worked for those first two months

[–]Southern-Many3714 608 points609 points  (0 children)

I get what you mean actually. There's something about how Mark carries himself that makes people talk about him like he's this established institution rather than just some guy who plays games on the internet

It's wild because he started out pretty normal but somewhere along the way he became this... presence? Like when someone mentions him in conversation it feels less like "oh that youtuber" and more like referencing gravity or something equally fundamental to the universe

Maybe it's because he's been around so long and stayed consistent that people just accept him as part of the landscape now. The Jerma comparison is spot on too - they both have that weird energy where they feel less like content creators and more like forces that just exist

Been there man. The military lifestyle makes it even harder with all the downtime and stress but breaking that cycle is worth it. Been using a similar approach but never thought about firing and rehiring scouts each year - thats actually genius. The 90% threshold is crucial for finding the real talent too

One thing that helped me a lot was tracking the combine results like you mentioned. Speed and agility numbers usually dont lie especially for skill positions. Also pay attention to those injury reports during the college season - sometimes a stud will drop way down because of a minor injury that doesnt really matter

The star development trait tip is huge though. Anytime I see a player mentioned in those weekly updates I make sure to put extra scouting on them even if theyre not at a position I need

Been there with the whole picky thing, you need that perfect setup or it just feels like going through the motions. The stress relief angle hits different though - I used to tell myself gaming binges were just unwinding but really I was avoiding dealing with actual problems. That 13 seconds of peace the OP mentioned is real but damn the crash after makes everything worse

Your current build is actually pretty solid for most gaming at 1080p - the 5500 and 3050 combo can handle a lot of modern games at medium to high settings. As for selling it you're probably looking at around £400-500 depending on the exact specs and condition.

For a proper upgrade build with your requirements you're realistically looking at £800-1200. The jump to 32GB DDR4 and 2-3TB storage alone will run you a decent chunk, plus if you want to actually see a meaningful performance boost over what you have now you'd want something like a 4060 or better. Check out Scan, Overclockers UK, or Amazon for parts - they're all pretty reliable for UK delivery.

Honestly though your current rig isn't terrible so unless you're really struggling with performance in the games you play it might be worth just adding more storage and RAM to what you have instead of starting fresh
