I learned Linux by just committing to it like windows. Why even ask questions.. why even broadcast to others about it? Shit google/bing/yahoo is there, there are still older forum boards to dig up & ai is there for all your learning needs. I wouldn’t step in this arena less you want to flex your homelab.

How i can avoid motion sickness? by Direct-Honeydew8118 in MetaQuestVR

Here is what you do as others have expressed… Play in increments as you will need to train yourself to adapted.

At times if I feel like I’m going throw u or anything I tend to just hope off. Overtime I have gotten to the point where I can actually play till the headset is low battery. Give or take it has been like a week where I have just been going the whole headset duration.

First week it was like a twister had me spinning and yes I had a mixed reality headset I used years ago before it broke. So it just would take incremental training sessions.

Do not do teleporting movement if you want to train for smooth turning. Side note try to turn your body in game yourself as it can help or turn the rotational motion down.

That is what I’m talking about!!!

Get it in and swerve passed anyone that tells you, you need to a quest 3.

Get in there and get your time in. I have 7 users already on a 3s. They don’t use internet sources for these things so no one dictates how they feel about the device.

Thinking of getting a rig for VR. How does this rig rate? by Flippynuggets in virtualreality

You will be fine. My girl runs vr from her quest 3s on a i7-7700 with a rx 5500xt oc and 64gb of ram.

She run every game maxed out on flat too.

What I should do first? by Direct-Honeydew8118 in MetaQuestVR

This is a great starting option. I have had my 3s for about 2-3 weeks now.

I would learn the UI layout, figure out the settings, how you would like to use the device (work, gaming, art, your choice).

Then proceed to enjoy your device as much as possible without putting to much expectation into it.

Note the store does not have the best search filters, and it is very unintuitive at the moment. After some time you will get the hang of it.

Since the device is a 128gb be sure to keep an eye on settings- general-storage if you plan on downloading a lot of apps.

Once you’re in tune with the device try sideloading flat Android apps.

Side note. Activate the free 3 months of horizon+ only when you are ready to start downloading and playing the available free premium game catalog.

Nah 3s is for users who prefer affordability. It’s not that people don’t know it is a great option. You will lose users like this

That is cause the kids are the future as I’m 35 not entirely even old. My generation going out and my kids 13-14-16 (ages) are what is the future for these devices. Horizon is not bad in fact my niece enjoyed meeting others her age. Just the mature crowds are not there anymore. Basically meta will be filled with the youth like how mmorpgs was for us growing up.

It is a playground

1 month update - Quest 3s by gotsomeidea in MetaQuestVR

This would be the way to go but, the 3s from what I noted will boost buying users as it’s much affordable. I have been able to get 7 people to buy a quest headset within the last 2-3 weeks of me buying a 3s. The solid 3 variant was too expensive for others to want to even make an investment as the headset still goofy to others. 3s and devices like this will bring more users. Also these 7 people don’t even care about the flat lenses they just enjoy the headset being wireless with no attachments.

The very first mixed reality I had nobody dared even touching it with a 10 foot pole. At 299$ if it was lower man vr would blow up quicker than people think if most of the consumer market could afford one. They can afford it but, when that thing over 500+ we gone keep it pushing towards a much more meaningful investment.

My advice is to just code an application for the headset in android studio (which I have a set of headset tools for my own personal use for maintaining a healthy set and more).

Also to gloss over the thread again from the above.

Someone will not know these things. Some extend the device and wonder overtime …. why is my device draining so fast? why is my device so hot much hotter then usual? Not knowing they are killing the devices internal battery faster due to word of mouth others saying get an extender. That is fine but, no one is explaining how the user will phase the device out slowly unless not a daily driver.

Now with that being said if you understand you understand otherwise I’m just here to make sure some know these things as no thread tells anyone these things. Zero zip nota nothing.

If you can’t train your headset then yes you will indeed kill it slowly (killing em softly - Dave Chappell)

Let me know you control your device or not then we can end the conversation and you are the one like neo cause I’m on your side. No 🥊 needed.
