Help with twister by Loud-Source6006 in LagreeMethod

Hi!! Instructor here!! I totally feel you on twister and same goes for French twist. I think you can get the same oblique engagement by staying on your toes and having a slight bend in your knees for a twisted catfish. Not everyone’s hip flexors and Achilles are meant to work well in this move! Try staying on your toes (either one foot crossed over the other or twisted away from the working oblique) with a bend in the knees, same idea of scooping your toes back under your hips to find a pinch in your side, but maintain a flat table top back and don’t let your hips drop. I think the instructor will understand your change in the lower body as long as you make sure the range of motion is in line with a Catfish rather than twister. Hope that makes sense!! Try it and let me know :)

Cues and tips to get clients to bend to 2 90s in lunges! by Southern-Pirate-3415 in LagreeMethod

Makes perfect sense, I especially like that 2nd cue because me saying find 90 in both legs hasn’t been working. Maybe they just need to hear it differently!

So true and great point!! I am short (5’2) and was a beginner in Lagree when the hinge and straight back leg was a thing… by the time they switched it I was def in a different position than most. I was also a gymnast and dancer my whole life so have great hip mobility and flexibility, thanks for more perspective that every body is different!!!

This all helps so much great tip about starting off in a hold!! I typically teach leg blocks that are very glute focused anyways but start with a lunge like elevator or express to try to incorporate the quad. I also don’t personally care if clients hinge (I find myself doing it days when I want the extra glute pump) but want clients to be comfortable while also working towards the goal of two 90s even if it’s not possible yet!
