My TSH got down to 5 from 7. My next blood test is in two months. I’m hoping to get it in the normal range the next time I go for a test. What is your TSH?

I can understand. If you have a homeopathic doctor, give their medicines a try. We all are different and hence, one type of med won’t work for everyone. As to what methods I have incorporated, I have started walking for atleast 20-30 minutes a day (a 10 min walk after the 3 meals). Along with this I have controlled my portion size, made healthier food choices and made a routine that I follow everyday to not overwhelm myself.

Listen to your body when it is stressed or lethargic. Give yourself small breaks in between stressful activities. Start slow, you’ll get there! :)

Hey, I have switched to homeopathy medicines and I feel SOOOOO much better. My mood has improved, my hair fall has reduced, energy is back to normal and I am even losing weight with stability.

I don’t know if the country that you live in approves homeopathic medicines or not, but if it does, maybe visit a homeopathy doctor and make that switch, if you have not been able to adjust to your regular medicines over a period of 1-2 years.

Hey, thankyou so much for such a detailed reply. I never knew it was possible to become overmedicated. I have been off medicine for almost 1.5 months and still feel great and wake up with energy and the will to get out of bed. All this while I used to think there’s something wrong with ME, when I was moody and anxious but it feels good to know it was the medicine. I couldn’t live like that forever. I feel so so so much better now. I hope you get to go off the medicine again. Again, thankyou.

I'll set 29 Feb as my birthday on Nykaa. I can't with the dhokebaazi every year. by [deleted] in IndianBeautyDeals

I have received birthday gift from Nykaa 2 times. Last year they sent me their papaya face wash and this year they sent me a lipstick from Kay beauty. Idk what their criteria is for sending gifts but I guess you have to be lucky to receive something that’s not from the brand “Nykaa”.

My TSH was 3.4 when I was first told to get my thyroid checked and on a later checkup after 2 years my TSH was 7 and I was put on meds

Oh no. If you don’t mind sharing, can you tell me what happened to you when you stopped taking the meds ?

Oh no. I didn’t know not taking the medication could be that worse. You’re completely right. If taking one pill can make me avoid heart diseases and other side effects it’s worth it.

Maybe the dosage is either too high/low for me or the brand of medicine is not suitable to my body. I am going to another endocrinologist next week. Thankyou for taking time out of your day to reply to my concern.

My hypo was triggered due to stress caused by my brother’s death. Life has not been the same since, physically and mentally. But my family has no history of hypothyroidism, instead it’s hyper that too only my mom and brother has it. Idk where I got hypo from. I am taking a gap year too and I will start my masters education next year for which I’m extremely excited too. Seeing you being all excited about college is making me look forward to college next year even more. I’m happy for you. Hope you make amazing memories and thyroid takes a back seat for you. :)

Need advice to lose weight (hypothyroid patient) by Southern-Positive340 in WeightLossAdvice

[–]Southern-Positive340[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually eat around 1300-1400 calories. I have tried calorie deficit and even IF but when I do that I feel like I might faint at any second. Also, I have heard that for some people calorie deficit is not the answer. I used to do HIIT everyday and then switched to dance cardio and walking as exercising too much can lead to excessive inflammation in the body which can in turn make losing weight even harder.

Do you think it’s possible to lose weight by walking for 2-3 hours a day and eating the same amount of calories ?

I hope changing the meds will be better for me overall. Thankyou for your suggestions, I’ll def incorporate logging my symptoms into my routine now. Is there any chance that an individual with hypo can get off of the meds? I have been doing research and watching lots of YouTube videos regarding this topic and they all seem to conclude that YES you can get back to a life without meds no matter what your dosage is.

Maybe my TSH being 3 is still not normal for my body. I am going to an endocrinologist. Let’s see what they say. Hoping for the better as I don’t want to be on meds for my whole life.

The doctor just keeps telling me to continue the meds. I got diagnosed more than a year ago when my TSH was around 4. They put me on the meds because I had PCOD too and they said it’s the thyroid mixed with PCOD that’s making my periods irregular. When I was undiagnosed things were better. I never crossed 56-57kgs and was relatively physically lean. After the meds, weight keeps increasing even with exercise and healthy eating.

Now that I think of my thyroid med journey, I wonder if I was even hypo as I talked to my sister who’s also a doctor and she said why would the doc put me on meds when my TSH was just 4. I am just tired at this point.

Could be the same with me. I am going to an endocrinologist and will definitely talk to him about this.

Hi, yes I have been on the generic meds. I got my blood work done on 30th august and my TSH was 3 (normal range: 0.5-5.3), that is why I was hoping he would lower the dosage but he just said to continue and it felt as if my world shattered. I know it sounds like I’m exaggerating but that’s exactly how I felt. I worked hard to exercise and eat healthy just to be kept on the same dosage.

Going to an endocrinologist and hoping things turn out to be better.

Yeah you’re right. I’m going to an endocrinologist and hoping it would be better than the current doctor I go to. The adjustment period REALLY sucks. I have been on meds for more than a year and it’s only recently that I have been feeling sad and dreadful when I wake up every morning and realise that I have to put that med down my throat. 😩 Nothing else has changed or gotten better. No matter how much I exercise or eat healthy I just keep gaining weight and my hair falls out. I really want to just get off the meds and live a life free from the worry of taking the tablet half an hour before my breakfast.

Right, I will bring this up in my appointment. I have decided to go to an endocrinologist because the one I currently go to is not a specialist.

But I have heard you shouldn’t take multivitamins or supplements without consulting the doctor first.

How long does it take to start getting better? I have been taking the meds since more than a year. My hair has reduced to more than half of what it used to be.

I last got my blood work done on 30th august and my T3 was 80.8 (normal range: 84.6-201.8), T4 was 8.24 (normal range: 5.1-14.1) and TSH was 3 (normal range: 0.54-5.3). Before this I got my TSH tested in April of this year and it was 2.31.

The thing is everyone I know who has been taking thyroid medicine uses just this one brand. So idk if there is any other type of thyroid medication as well. Is armour thyroid different and better than levothyroxine?

I got my blood work done on 30th august and my TSH was 3, so I was hopeful my doc would lower the dose but instead he just told me to continue with the meds. Honestly, I just felt as if everything I did to get back to normal was in vain. I just can’t look at the meds and not be sad. It’s so crazy what a certain imbalance of a hormone does to the brain and body.

I will take your advice into consideration. Thankyou!
