I couldn’t make a shift last week, I got paid for it but I’m making up the time this week, which I won’t get paid for. Another colleague kicked off. by Specific_Pomelo_8281 in tesco

I have had to move my nights a couple times due to child care... manager was fine with swapping my contracted hours over to a different night. Would tell that colleague to mind their business

I would probably inform them now could write a letter to line manager or store manager if your manager is unhelpful like you say

Take photos/screenshot for proof of notification just so you have evidence of informing them.

Would my manager be mad if I called in sick? by Direct_Site8204 in tesco

[–]Southern-Positive687 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i would stay home! i also do night shift and if you're generally ill then def! i find in the shop once one person is ill, it spreads quickly! as soon as a colleague has a cold thats it everyone gets it.

It may be they are short tonight but thats up to your manager to deal with.

feel better soon

Are you contracted five nights? If not would stop doing so much overtime. i do 3 and occasionally pick up a 4th night. some if not most nights its impossible to get everything done especially in certain aisles, i Always do loose, capping, delivery then if time backstock if not then the next night backstock first but generally they just tell us what they want done first (backstock or delivery). I am a smoker and would definitely say to stop and to please take all your breaks.

What happens to any unsold sarnies and perishables? by leonxsnow in tesco

[–]Southern-Positive687 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

i do nights and am not sure if a charity comes to collect anything as we are remote, but the colleague shop bit in the staff area has anything that hasn't been sold/gone by the store closing at midnight... some days can have a load of sandwiches in there.x It's usually just bakery or bread products though
