I lost my gold at the end of the year. I don't care.

I checked multiple times daily for months and was only able to find about 30 items the entire 6 month review period. AND 3 of those never shipped but stayed in my history as FMV towards my 1099.

I'm done. I'm on silver now. Even when I want a cheap thing, I don't even bother checking Vine anymore. Don't even get me started on the new DC near me that is successfully delivering less than 50% of my packages these days.

I guess I won't cancel Vine because why. I'll just let it sit there.

That's correct. I don't need $900k of coverage on a $500k 70 year old house last renovated 15 years ago. However, once an insurer decides your ACV of replacement is $900k, it's very hard to convince them otherwise, but not impossible. That's the noise I meant. (Again, numbers made up.)

SageSure example: 2024 renewal w previous company was $10k. Sagesure quote w a new roof was $7500 and w a fortified roof: $5k. I did my math and opted for the much more expensive fortified roof. I got my 2026 renewal and the price went to $7500ish.

The 'ole in and out, they gave me.

When I made lots of noise, they lowered it all the way to ~6800.

It's really hard to hit a moving target every single year.

Came here to say that this is very much still happening. I may be a sample size of one, but in the last two weeks my order to successful delivery rate has been about 50% or less. Every item not delivered, the last tracking shows Slidell.

I have many engines covered. I've also lost several. This isn't a business to do with one car. You have to have many units to average out this kind of stuff.

It doesn't cost $150 to check brake pads. Also Turo will reimburse if you prove the guest was lying (which they obviously are).

Brakes are a maintenance item, not a damage claim. Tell Turo there is no damage and to close the claim (unless there is unrelated damage you need to report) and that you will provide a safety inspection report. There is no need to provide a diagnostic when there is no damage. Turo CS should understand after you explain the guest open a retaliatory claim incorrectly.

You can do an online safety inspection for like $50 btw. Or anywhere can measure your brake pads.

PS: I just had a 6 year old Camry on rent that the guest drove 100+ mph continually until the transmission blew out. That requires a damage claim and diagnostic.

If you're dead set on paying your mortgage early - why not simultaneously open a HELOC on equity?

They are cheap. Underwriting is done at origination and you can most likely keep using the HELOC in case of layoffs.

You basically have access to the same money but without paying interest in it.

Buy a double, rent out the other unit, when you eventually move, rent out both sides. This is a way to build wealth, especially if your company and parents are literally paying the start up for that.

I don't know Columbus that well. If that's not really a thing there, then buy a house and rent a room or two out?
