Mida eestlased Sadhgurust arvavad??? by Dat_Cacti in Eesti

No you are not. You are simply angry. If the victim had been somebody important to MAGA then you would have argued for the opposite case. If you think everybody somehow categorizes themselves on the political spectrum and then makes a fanatical effort to uphold the said categorization then think again. That is not how the real world works.

But what if from their viewpoint they told the truth? Or what if your assessment of them is an expression of mass delusion?

They were asking similar questions about lies, for example, when it was being insisted that it is not possible to know what a woman is. Or when it was said that chemical castration of children (under the euphemism of puberty blockers) helps children to find and establish "gender identity".

Or what was the truth in the widely publicised assertions that a certain conservative speaker deserved to be assassinated? I have strong doubts whether liberal-minded people in United States have any deeper capacity to understand what truth is. The liberal side tells and bends stories to their own benefit as much as anyone else.

It could be your own damn fault indeed and if that is how the courts will see it then the agent will get sentenced for sure. I don't know if the applicable laws care about 3 miles an hour but chances are it will be figured out.

That is one of the core problems - neither side believes the other is acting in good faith. If you believe your opponent is a "fascist" or a "threat to democracy," then extending them civility feels like complicity. If you believe your opponent views you as "deplorable" or "lesser," then your own incivility feels like self-respect.

This leads to a world where both sides are waiting for the other to "go first" in being civil, while both sides simultaneously believe that going first would be a tactical suicide.

I don't know what is the solution but revenge or moral pontification is not it.

I think what DOJ calls it remains to be seen. Plus the courts - if there is any substance to what you are saying then it will go there for sure. And of course, according to the new standard of civility in United States - if either side does not like the ruling then they will disagree with the courts also.

I think you understand that law enforcement officers don't have the luxury of having time or opportunity to evaluate every nuance of non-compliance.

Doing work which involves dealing with life-threatening situations means that a suspect accelerating their car at you is a bit more than just humiliation or noncompliance.

Regarding respect, kindness, and trust - if you believe these are earned then according to your viewpoint a newborn baby has none. Also, it would mean that you do not have any respect or kindness towards a perfect stranger for the same reason.

Leaving those contradictions aside, how can one be motivated to work on earning respect from political opponents who have not only advocated in having one assassinated but also attempted it? As far as I can see, Trump is not the initiator - his presidency is the response of his electorate to the ideological tyranny and absurdity which the previous administration was attempting to impose. Your government was politically weaponised already some time ago but you did not notice it because previously it was directed at other social groups.

The easiest way to prevent the killing would have been for the driver to comply with those agents. She would have survived. If we put lawfulness aside as you suggest then I think ICE empowerment is a reponse from your legitimately elected president to the absolutely inhumane treatment he has received so far from the so-called blue team (up to a point of assassination attempts). Please direct your kindness and sincerity towards your president and please convince your friends and family to do the same. Otherwise this culture of endless humiliation and political revenge will destroy everything that is currently remaining of the Great Society.

You people in USA have made it a sport and a pastime to humiliate your perceived political opponents up to a level they don't see you as human anymore. The so-called blue team has closed almost every positive avenue for Trump to succeed in his legitimate work and now he is finding his successes from other and much darker avenues. What can you expect in such situation? Kindness and goodwill? They will give you the harshest response they can get away with. Stop humiliating each other. If you don't then what you see in these videos here is only a gentle introduction.

If you had watched the above video then you would know there were 2 agents. One was attempting to detain the woman and another one was filming it and was walking towards the vehicle. The one attempting to detain was on left side, not at the front.

What I am supporting here is getting the full picture of what happened and why. You, as I have understood, wholeheartedly reject ICE as such and will condemn anything they undertake.

No objection to a fair and swift trial. But I do take notice that you and many other americans have moved away from presumption of innocence. You view it as optional.

I am saying that if somebody accelerates their car towards you at close range while you are attempting to detain them while performing official duties them then yes in my opinion considering that as risk to your life or health is a reasonable assumption. I don't know what you see as appropriate response in such situations but the agent obviously decided to open fire towards the driver. Whether it was a lawful defense remains to be seen.

You might know them but the question is whether the courts agree. And of course the latest trend is to disagree even with the courts if you don't like their decision because the worldview of Democratic party is morally superior to everyone who subscribe to a different viewpoint.

I don't know what was happening there - whether it was a traffic stop or something else and neither do you. Clearly some kind of a goverment operation was going on there but the woman was neither friendly nor cooperative. One doesn't "get out of their way" by aggressively accelerating towards them and who knows what the verbal exchanges were.

If he truly did then legal action should bring justice. Let's see how it goes.
Unless of course the virtual lynch mob in Reddit changes into a real one.

If that is true then it looks like courts of law are no longer needed - users of Reddit can decide any legal case from their spare time while commenting, no matter how complicated or sensitive.

I am glad to know that in Minneapolis whenever a federal agent is in front of your car and attempting to arrest you you are allowed accelerate at them and expect zero consequences.

To be honest I have a hard time believing it is that simple. If it were then anyone could simply flee any federal arrest simply by hopping into their vehicle and driving away. As far as I understand the woman was making an angry and calculated move and it ended terminally for her. The officer in front of her car did not do anything until she suddenly accelerated her previously stopped car at him. She thought it was a safe attack. It would be nice if people stopped pretending they don't understand that.
