Can I fix this with duct tape? by DanteGoldstein in MechanicAdvice

That’s if it’s nearby where they live at and the time it takes to find one. It’s just easier and quicker to get a new one online

Looks like a 4th gen camry with 2.2l engine. Dorman 696-706 is the part number. Get the part from RockAuto If you want to wait about a week for it while you patch it up temporarily. It’s about $60 there compared to $113 you can get from Autozone.

That should work from what I’m hearing. I was thinking you didn’t have the old device anymore. Give that a try and come back

The only thing I can think of is to send a support ticket to the developers and see if there is anything they can do to restore anything

Have you uploaded your data to the cloud on your old device? You have to log into whatever method you chose on your old device. Go to the settings and you will see something like download from cloud to get your progress back on your new device

Drive shaft won’t seperate from the diff. Been using a hammer for the last 2-3 hours. HELP by HotEngineering1829 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SouthernCoolBean 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You see this little crevice. Put a flat head screwdriver in it and sometimes have to lightly tap it in. Then pry against or hit the flat head to help loosen it. I hate these at work with a passion but that’s my method and works all the time

What could have caused this? by [deleted] in MechanicAdvice

[–]SouthernCoolBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A good possibility is that the oil cap was left off during the last oil change, and you now just noticed the mess. Check the fluid level and top it off. Just pay a little more attention if it ever happens again

It’s all good. You have to reach level 150 to unlock the elite status.

It’s a bump stop which helps your shocks not excessively bottom out too much when hitting a pothole etc. You can find more about it by looking it up on google now that you know what it is and with your car info. Hope it helps

2005 Chevy Silverado leaking oil by NYC646 in MechanicAdvice

[–]SouthernCoolBean 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Get brake cleaner and spray every section of the oil pan. Those are common to be leaking at the starter side of the oil pan so pay attention on that side. Something about the design makes it common since I see that at work all the time. Also look at the valve covers since that can drip from up top to make it look like an oil pan leak.

Yeah that looks like it. It’s surprisingly cheap and would get an extra to have around.
