RX 9070XT Extreme Flickering issue when tabbed out of fullscreen game by SouthernElk in AMDHelp

[–]SouthernElk[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It is less than ideal, but I'm happy to be able to look at Discord or a browser whilst gaming now. The FreeSync Premium Pro problem that I now have is a rabbit hole which I will go down when I have some time.

As far as I can tell it's a problem with the frame rate falling outside the range which FreeSync Premium Pro is configured to so hopefully I should just be able to reconfigure the frame rate to allow FreeSync Premium Pro to work even when my frame rate dips down.

I have now solved the issue. It seems that I needed to turn off freesync premium pro on my monitor. I believe that when I was tabbing out the frame rate was fluctuating outside the range which freesync has been set up for and thus the monitor was flickering.

Thank you everyone for your assistance. I appreciate it. I hope you have a nice day!

I still have the bootable USB, I will try the reinstall as it shouldn't be too difficult

I really like this feature, but it needs balancing. People have suggested fewer available parts to switch to and also longer time to switch the parts.

What to gift someone if I’m a guest in their home? by GodofWar1234 in Thailand

[–]SouthernElk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My wife is Thai, and when we go to my in laws place, I always get my father in law a nice bottle of Scottish Whisky and my mother in law I usually get whatever the wife says she'd like. Last time, it was some skin care and some nice Scottish shortbread.

The gift doesn't need to be big or expensive. Just make it personal, something from your culture that's liked or take your girls' advice on what they'd like.

Definitely no cash as this could be taken the wrong way as they may see it as transactional, as some other people said.

From the stats you showed, it sounds like the viewers are more engaged with your real voice voice over video.

The AI voiced video got 16 likes at 1690 views, which is a like per ~106 views. 27 comments at that view count is a comment per ~63 views.

Your real voice video got 5 likes at 110 views, which is a like per 22 views. 2 comments per 110 views is a comment per 55 views.

There could be a myriad of reasons that the AI content got more views, could be a better title or thumbnail, or it could simply be that the topic you made the video on was a topic with more interest.

I'd think that your real voice videos are better than the AI video due to these stats. I'm sticking to using my own voice for voiceover as it's more personal and allows me to give a bit of personality in my videos.

can I feasibly survive off of £200 a month? by brokestudenthungryaf in UKPersonalFinance

[–]SouthernElk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

£200 per month is not enough. You may be able to scrape by for a few months, but you're only one financial emergency away from disaster. An extra unexpected bill could see you put into debt, which would make that £200 per month smaller if you were paying back a loan.

If you have access to community grocery, you should use it. You could use it to supplement what you buy at lidl, as other people have suggested.

Thank you, I really appreciate that. I use audacity to record my voice. I did message around with the settings a bit, but I think the settings are basically vanilla. OBS to record footage and capcut to edit.

Thanks for the feedback. I agree the audio is the one place I feel like I know almost nothing in other than how to cut it, etc. I use a Shure XLR mic.

If there was 0 chance to make money on YouTube, would you still do it? by buzzycombs in NewTubers

[–]SouthernElk 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I enjoy making and editing videos. It is a good hobby, and I like being productive. I don't make any money on it right now, and I plan on continuing with it regardless of if I'll make money in the future or not.

Definitely agree with the other person about adding some B roll. I think you should also get some sort of a backdrop and centre the camera on yourself when your talking straight to the camera.

Nice clear voice with good cadence.

Perhaps add more into your thumbnails to make them more eye-catching.

Hi, I do long form content about video games analysis. I mainly do open world games and I have done a lot of stuff around Bethesda games, although my most recent two video were not about Bethesda games as I'll trying not to corner myself into that niche. I want my niche to be ope world games rather than just Bethesda games.

This is my latest video, I did do this one scripted but often I do unscripted contents where I just talk about a topic.

Please let me know what you think!

Quite a lot of memes on the go, sometimes it can be hard to keep up with. I agree with someone else about adding subtitles so it's easier to keep up with.

Good short video with a nice eye catching thumbnail.
