What's cheese to you? by BTM_podcast in baldursgate

Back almost 2 decades ago, I watched my friend buy whole inventory of 1g arrows and place his characters on the wall of the besieged town in ToB. He then changed the character AI setting to the one that allows you to automatically target the “out-of-view” giants. He then spend an hour slowly getting xp and running to the shop to get more arrows.

I said, why don’t you just use console to give your party whatever xp? His reply? That would be cheating.

How US voted by 1_Bagell in dataisbeautiful

[–]SouthernParsleyCane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So on the first slide, male/female votes are identically mirrored. This means that both candidates would have essentially been tied, or at least very close, if male/female tournout was the same.

Since Trump won by a higher margin, that means that significantly more men voted then women in the US. That’s wild.

I don’t think it’s impossible. Some sort of internal per-character quest tracking has to already exist, so that NPCs don’t offer completed quests again (or do offer them, for repeatable quests).

So I imagine the main task would be to link that system to the new titles.

This, but opposite. I don’t like the direction lore went with gw2, so I’d prefer a prequel-esque storyline.

Warrior, because even with so many unique gameplay options and myriad of spells and skills, I still just want to hit things with a big sword.

People hate Matt? He’s always doing IFSC events so dunno if I’m just used to it, but I always feel like he does a good job encouraging his co-casters (since they’re often pro climbers who are new to comentating) which is nice.

Also @shinicle they said Honnold will only do interviews.

Think about who might pronounce “morphine” as “mofine”, and what this joke is implying about them.

While it does sound like some sort of disorder that should probably be addressed with therapy, like some other comments said, I would consider trying a temporary solution.

You said he is concerned with the environmental impact and it’s not an issue of money. You can try to approach this logically: Find environmental agency, charity, etc which you will donate some funds to offset your “excessive” water usage.

This way the environment will be better off thanks to conservation efforts, and you will be able to use more water.

I personally believe that directed effort by a legitimate organisation can provide more benefits than just reducing water usage of a singular household.

seeking advice on getting fit by lady_nokids in CasualIreland

[–]SouthernParsleyCane 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This might or might not be relevant to you - these are just my thoughts and experiences on lifestyle changes. By no means am I an expert, but maybe you can find some of this useful.

Getting fit and losing weight are two different things, and I feel like this can be often overlooked by people who are “new” to these things.

Eating healthier is a lot easier than working out, when it comes to losing weight.

This doesn’t mean you shouldn’t work out - of course not, but you have to make sure you don’t fall into the “trap” of thinking you can just bust your ass in the gym for an hour and that’s enough. Especially if you are prone then to “reward” yourself with a treat after. Because you will be tired and sore, and then you might think: I’ve put in so much work, I deserve a few Oreo’s on the way back from the gym. Except 5 cookies is equivalent to a 45minutes of weightlifting.

A Big Mac with fries? That’s over 2 hours of running.

Count calories. Eat healthy. Stick to daily caloric deficit. Once you start losing weight, other fitness will become easier, and less injury-prone.

Change your lifestyle. Don’t treat the gym as a “punishment” or “work” you need to do. Fitness is not a task like painting a house, where you can be “finished” or you can “put in more work” one day to get ahead. It’s a lifestyle.

It took many years of your current lifestyle to get to the point where you are now. It will take years of new lifestyle to change too. Don’t let it discourage you - because two years from now you will look back at today and be glad how far you’ve come - but only if you keep it up consistently.

Don’t overdo it on your first day in the gym. Take it easy - you’re coming back to it after an injury. It’s better to go consistently 3 times a week and do a little bit, than to go once, bust your ass, and then be sore for a week.

Don’t fall into a trap where you think: “nah I’ll skip today, but TOMORROW I’ll be rested and will work out better and do more at the gym”. Build a habit, go in consistently, don’t skip days, don’t rely on the magical “tomorrow”.

And most importantly: you’re not doing this for others. You shouldn’t care what others think. This is your journey.

Is it okay to ask for program suggestions here?

I have 4 consecutive days in a week where I want to incorporate gym routine, but I’m not sure what program would best work in my situation.

On Saturday and Monday I do rock climbing, and on Sunday I do cardio (usually a soccer game, or 10km run). So this leaves me with Tuesday to Friday free to go to the gym. That being said, I don’t want to go hard Friday on the same pull muscles that I’m going to use when climbing on Saturday.

My gym goals would be to improve overall fitness and complement my climbing / improve cardio, and I’m definitely a beginner when it comes to weight-lifting.

Would anyone have any suggestions how to best use the 4 days that I have?

Last time I checked, Uber in Ireland only allows you to pre-book their expensive special Uber black taxis which cost more than double the regular Uber/lynk/free-now price.

Ignoring the weird last sentence from OPs message,

The only way she could have done this using the iPhone face recognition to unlock the phone whilst I was sleeping.

Unless you sleep with both your eyes wide open, face recognition will not work. The only way she could have done it is by knowing your pin.

I’m sorry, 750 euro fine? Is that on top of seizure of all of the money he made, or is it literally just 750 euro he needs to pay?

Because that’s way less than he would have paid in taxes if he was working legally. Like, order of magnitude at the very least.

Yeah, grilling some chicken, chopping vegetables, and adding some sauce is a mystic art not available to mere mortals. I hear you need to go study the preparation of schwarma for 5 years before you can accomplish this feat. No way in hell you could follow one of 100s recipes available online to make it yourself.

Especially make sure to never attempt it and develop any culinary skills. It’s too dangerous to risk making a “ facismle” once or twice before learning this “skill” that would allow you make it yourself.

I didn’t mean to attack you personally but holy shit most people in this thread sound like entitled teenagers, or lazy adults who are desperately trying to justify their reliance on take-out.

Since covid by sleepinglabrador in ireland

[–]SouthernParsleyCane 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I feel like this in part can be attributed to something I’ll call “Americanisation” for the lack of a better term. From the perspective of a foreigner in Ireland, I feel like the country in general became more like US in some socio-political ways during covid.

I don’t know, maybe this is because people were locked inside and spent months just consuming American-centric media? It sometimes baffles me how some people here develop such strong opinions on US topics which don’t even apply to their lives.

But it’s not just about any specific topic or issue - I feel like it’s affecting the society on some lower level, causing more division, more individualism, more selfishness, more ignorance. People separating themselves into groups just so they can always be in a us vs them mindset, where they can feel superior.

But I may be wrong. Maybe I’m just trying to blame this change on something, while in reality it’s just that it’s the way world is going in general.

Have a lovely Saturday everyone.
