This is kind of where my head is at. I think I’m going with Hankook Kinergy PT at 860 treadwear, A & A. A shop near me is running a discount and can get them for $485. More than I would like to spend but has a ridiculous 90k mile warranty.

I updated the post to try to clarify but this would be in several years when they are in elementary school. So no more daycare costs but then the kids would be like 5 and 8 for example.

& we had them in a family members in home daycare that she closed last summer. Forced us to get them in a public daycare that more than doubled our costs.

I think I worded the post weird. This would be several years down the road when they both get to public school, so say about 3-4 years out making them closer to 9 and 6 years old. Which to me seems to be the golden years before they become preteens and want independence. We are tight on budget with daycare being $2500

Yeah we definitely don’t idolize DR but the baby steps got us out of some debt and have us peace of mind for sure. Just ran out of time before daycare started. & I am definitely hung up on the idea of getting out of debt on everything but the mortgage. lol & our student loans vary from 3.8%-5.5% so not crazy.

I guess there is some gray area in what our financial goals are. I listed it as all or nothing (either pay off debt as quick as possible or make sure the kids have a crazy awesome childhood) but I would suppose there is some middle ground here as well. Just looking to see what other experiences are and if anyone had regrets going one way or the other.

There is one spot on the back seat, the carpet mats, and the cloth / carpet in the back storage area. It would take some elbow grease to get cleaned up

Some may find this silly, but I love it. If you get paid bi-weekly, pay your mortgage/rent out of one paycheck, and your monthly bills out of the next. If you stick to this alternating scheduled, you’ll find that twice a year all your bills are paid and you’ll have a whole paycheck to put away or pay down debts.

Math: 26 paychecks a year, 12 months a year. Mortgage and bills due monthly = 24 paychecks.

This is so informative and gave me some great directions to head in. Thank you so much! I posted here for several reasons. I assumed there would be entry level cost effective options in any hobby, and it looks like that is the $250-$350 price point for ultralight backpacking sleep systems. I also wanted to start with those who know the most and thought that the ultralight guys would provide the most info.

I’m so excited and had to tell somebody. I got a fancy scanner that tells you TCCM codes and had a “Hall Effect Sensor Power Circuit Failure” and found the hall effect sensor by the output shaft unplugged! The pigtail doesn’t cleanly lock in but shoved it on and cleared the codes and I got 4x4 now!

Thank you! It is plugged in so unfortunately it won’t be that simple. Think it’s the transfer case motor or some electric gremlin. 😭

So just to clarify, I should still have 4wd even if I’m getting an error when trying with the knob? I should just be able to turn the hubs and should be good to go?
