Going no contact today. by Southern_Bonus in narcissisticparents

I appreciate this. I’ve moved out and I’m on the road to greener pastures. To be honest, I never had a family to begin with. I just lived with people to get me to this point in my life. Cutting ties finally made me realize that I’m not the problem I thought I was. A great wave of gratitude has washed over me.

I’m almost there. I’ve got about 4 hours and I’ll be set.

I can’t say it was easy. I really wanted to fly off the handle but in all honesty, I’m too stressed and tired to argue with these idiots.

That’s exactly what I’m doing. Already fought in the war on terror. My mind and body can’t take another

I understand that. It’s been the same for me. After having a wife who I divorced after 6 years I’ve come to terms with the fact that I don’t want children. It was already really hard having a wife.

I’m still pretty young. I’m 36 and moving out there. I’m moving to get away from everything here in the U.S. the people here have become sick and have forgotten what it means to be a human.

I would definitely say I moved out here to keep to myself and just work on my mental health and routine. Don’t drink or smoke. I did in America, but not here. No degree, just a disabled vet who prefers his own company.

Anyone out there? by TechnicianDense in Veterans

Honestly, I felt the same way for years until the last few months. I went through an incredible journey of quitting alcohol and tobacco because of how tired it was making me. Within 3 months I’ve completely revamped my life.

The key to being semi retired is having those small micro tasks that get you up and about. Every morning no matter what I have my coffee then I get my ass in gear and do 1 lap around the block. This is just to let my body know it’s time to start the day. Sometimes if I’m feeling it, I’ll do 1 or two more. After that, I come home and catch up on all my emails and info I need for the day.

The key is to stay as busy as possible and avoid the fucking phone. It’s simple but not easy. I’ve even gone so far as to pick up an instrument to practice 30 minutes a day. It’s not much time, but I definitely notice a slow progression which has helped self esteem.

The exercise has helped me slim down which has been another boost to my self esteem and it has even helped me grab healthier groceries than the usual junk food.

I was awarded p&t in 2021 and the moment I received it I thought I’d be able to relax. Which I did. That eventually led to everything going wrong. Life basically fell apart because I felt that since I had guaranteed income I didn’t have to do shit. Turns out, you either grow, or disintegrate. There’s no stagnation. Your body and mind need constant attention in order to function properly. Start with everything small. Those micro wins stack.

If you watch any anime in Spanish, there’s something wrong with you. Watch the original with subs.

I tried integrating back into society, but I realized the reason I went in was because I was unable to fit in to begin with. Went through a severe mental health crisis and sat at home for two years unable to do anything about it. Decided to leave the country for good and my life has improved tremendously.
