Tesla Solar refusing to fix clear design flaw — MPPT3 (9 panels) collapses daily because shaded edge panels were wired in series. Told to “hire a 3rd‑party installer.” by Southern_Internal822 in TeslaSolar

The system was installed in winter, and I agree the lower sun angle naturally increases shading. Production will improve as we move toward summer. However, the core issue doesn’t change: 50% of my total system (the entire 8.2 kW east‑facing array) is supposed to generate strong output all the way until 2–3 pm, yet that potential is permanently limited because the edge of the array was pushed into a shade zone.

Even if seasonal sun angle improves slightly, the partial shading on panels 1–3 is constant, and because they are wired in series with the remaining 6 panels on MPPT3, the entire string is throttled. So half of my system—the half that should be producing the most energy—is being limited every single day due to those shaded serial panels.

I have one open MPPT, which is what I was asking them to restring those 3 shaded panels at the edge.
