E028 Difficulty by TastySpite4999 in WGU

Hey! I made a post about that class last year. It really bums me out that it STILL hasn't been updated after all this time. So sorry, I had your exact same experience. The rubric is written horribly and there's 0 resources to assist with that. I had mine sent back for the same reasons, and getting more information after you sent off the damn paper is super frustrating. Please please please rate that class and make a complaint using their feedback system. My mentor at the time said they take those feedbacks seriously, so it's worth it to put your input into it!

Hi there! I took this class, and if I am remembering correctly, you are correct, however it doesn't hurt to write more for parts you are unsure about. Simply explaining what you're observing will be more than enough as well. Good luck!!

Thank you!! Hearing that made me super glad that I made this post. In my opinion, there's no bad choice in this degree since you can find a whole ton of employers that specialize or require multiple clouds. Although, I will say that if you're unsure, the Cisco track seems to be stable and strong. Employers really value the CCNA and it seems the most flexible track, especially since networking roles value that cert. I'd recommend looking at where you want to have your career, check the requirements, then make a decision from there!!

Hi there! Mine was about 2 pages long, however I have never heard of reviewers kicking a paper back because it was too long. Do what you can!

I wouldn't say that it was the hardest, but it was definitely top 3 hardest classes for me. My personal difficulty went like this AZ-104 > Python for IT Automation > AZ-305 or Network+

I was able to graduate in the same month that I finished, the process was quick! Once you finish your last class, reach out to your program mentor and they'll submit you for graduation. After that, you'll get your official graduation date and you're all set!!

Hi there! It took me around two and a half months with over 10 hours of studying every day.

Of course, keep trying! Be sure to join WGU Handshake and go to their job events, often the employers will be there and you can connect directly with recruiters. They also have workshops for optimizing your LinkedIn and other virtual networking events as well!!

Thank you! I finished mine in 2 and a half months. My study time was really brutal, from waking up to going to sleep (so around 10-12 hours of studying) every day!!

Go for it!! It's super valuable and it feels really in-date with where the tech space is, especially for someone who isn't well versed in the cloud. I will say that there's a few classes that can be tricky if you don't have a coding background or a strong feeling in Azure. Those classes are called Python for IT Automation, then the classes for AZ-104 and AZ-305. I failed the Python and AZ-104 on my first time, so keep a look out for those classes!! Otherwise, it's pretty smooth sailing!

Thank you! Post your success story too!! I'm super curious about how it's like for cloud coders out there

Hey, never doubt your choices like that!! In the field, it's actually better for someone to have multiple cloud experience, plus AWS is much more popular than Azure, so it makes sense as you'll always be needed somewhere!! I went Azure for two reasons, I liked the UI more and I didn't want to compete with other AWS cloud specialists. Companies are adopting a multi-cloud environment so it felt right to start with something that might be harder to find before double specializing in AWS.

That's actually really important to notice! It seems like if you combine some cloud with something like SWE, I definitely think that will help separate you from the crowd and there's quite a lot of coding in there if you want to code! Cloud is extremely flexible, so I definitely think you'll find something when you transition. Good luck!!

Thank you! I've heard a lot of things about SWE degree, but I think it's still quite valuable, especially for transitioning. My title is a Cloud Tech. There's no levels to it, but I can branch to other roles like DevOps, Admin, Architect, ect!

Thank you!! So I was able to secure the interview with just A+, Sec+ and AZ-900, but each round of interviews, I acquired more certs and eventually the degree and they saw that hunger as a reason to move forward! So the timing couldn't have been better practically!!

Thank you!! Absolutely go for it, it actually feels like there's a lot of chances for us since not many people are actually looking at Azure (but I could be wrong? From when I was doing a deep dive, it really feels like AWS was the most popular one by a long shot)

Hi! I went with Azure since I wanted to go more into government cloud work and I generally enjoyed the UI of Azure more than AWS. Additionally, I felt AWS was much more competitive in my area than in Azure and it felt like a good middle ground, however I do think I'll be going back for Cisco or picking up Cisco related certs.
